May the property be peaceful.

If you don't mind me asking, What's the location?

This thread has been of immense help to me. I want to appreciate the contributions of all 'elders' lexus, semmyk, Ticha etc.

We got our keys on Friday 30th August and moved into our house on the 31st. We maxed out our LISA contributions and deposit was 14k.

Thank God, finally, it's my testimony time!

We got our keys 13/09, and moved in 15/09.

Got over 6k extra using LISA.

Special thanks to Oga Lexus, Madam Ticha, and everyone contributing to this thread.

Good afternoon everyone, am about to start my mortgage process so I reached out to my bank Lloyd bank and they insist their mortgage criteria is ILR and I’m just 2years here. Can I be advised how to go about this please, I am heartbroken.

Congratulations to everyone that has gotten their keys. Please i need help to really understand the mortgage industry. Rental is killing me. I live in the southeast of England and am currently on a skilled worker visa.I have lived in the UK since 2021 so i am hoping that should count for somehing. I don't earn much—lower than £30k per annum—but I have equity I can drop as a deposit towards the downpayment, but I am looking to buy towards the north. How do I go about it?

Go to Barclays OR Halifax (If you (+ your partner) earn up to 100k a year)

Might have to talk to a broker. I would recommend http://the-mortgagestore.co.uk/

it is what is. Unless you have 10 percent deposit you can check barclay.

use a mortgage advisor. Since you are on visa you are looking at a minimum of 10 percent deposit, barclay or halifax can do that for now.

This should be dependent on the value of the property, not just for those earning 100k.

I got a mortgage as a sole earner on a salary less than 100k from Barclays also on a skilled worker visa and 10% deposit.

Dont rely on what the bank brokers tell you, get a broker from the open market, they are more resourceful and effective at getting mortgages for people.

Barclays is more lenient with visa holders. We also got from them. 100K was also a requirement for someone I know who applied with Halifax.

@Ticha, please can you recommend a good solicitor for me ? Any other person who has used a good one should recommend too. The solicitor should be “responsive “ ohh. I hear that some of them don’t respond to mails and calls
