This is what Dangote is known for, his selfish interest.
I know it that once his refinery is operational he will seek to monopolize and impoverish Nigerians.
We saw what he did with sugar and cement.

He wants to become the richest man in the world at the expense of ordinary Nigerians.

I warned you guys before.

Nigeria's biggest capitalist has spoken.

Now that he has built a refinery, lets end the subsidy.

Can Dangote return all the subsidies Nigeria has awarded him over the last 40 years ?

Tinubu removed subsidy, increased price by times 4 and started paying 2 times the subsidy that was being paid before the removal.

How can a product receive more subsidy and also get 4 times more expensive at the same time?

It means people are paying themselves subsidy and that's Tinubu and family . Tinubu didn't remove subsidy, he only made himself the only beneficiary of subsidy scam but then the scam became 4 times more serious

Subsidy is expensive to maintain and already crippling us as an econimy but i disagree with him here.

The actual consumption figure cannot be quaged by what goes out of his refinery. The NNPCL is stepping in as a monopoly force in order to drive prices down on behalf of a govt eager to lower prices. That leaves us still with difference between our prices and our neighbour's and thats the basis for smuggling.
Tracking trucks is good but there are other means of smuggling it from border areas out.
how is subsidy responsible for crippling the economy?

how is subsidy expensive to maintain?

if NNPC and government are eager to drive down price of fuel, why cant it get its 4 refineries to work instead of hijacking the fuel produced by a private business man?

by the way, i thought nnpc is private? how is it now acting as a monopoly on behalf of government?

Tinubu should not remove the fuel subsidy completely. Crude oil is a mineral deposited in large quantities in Nigeria.

Tinubu should improve the relationship among local communities in the Niger Delta region, IOCs and the government. This is the only way we can end oil theft, increase local crude oil production and meet our OPEC quota.

Removing fuel subsidy totally will worsen the economic situation of this poor country. Meanwhile, the entire country shouldn't depend on Dangote. There are other modular refineries; they should be licensed to refine PMS.
But Ebola and his criminal gangs said there's no subsidy. So wetin him wan remove again? Subsidy wey no de exist? Are zonebs senseless

thank you bro. they keep blaming subsidy but refuse to blame those managing the subsidy.

same thing with electricity. subsidy was removed as they claimed and tariff increased but payment on subsidy increased

NNPCL is buying PMS as sole off-taker because of subsidy and that’s what Dangote is complaining about. Remove the subsidy completely and there will be no need for NNPCL to be the sole offtaker. Marketers will be able to buy directly from Dangote refinery and sell at whatever prices they like once subsidy is removed completely and the sector is fully deregulated.

Re: Why FG Must End Petrol Subsidy Now — Dangote by jericco1(m): 7:09am On Sep 24, 2024
Let me get this straight. Petrol price keeps going up yet they are still paying subsidy.

But the Otepu at the top said there is no more subsidy.

That means whatever payment that is being made is going to private pockets.
Hellooo

“Subsidy is a very sensitive issue. Once you are subsidising something then people will bloat the price and then the government will end up paying what they are not supposed to be paying. It is the right time to get rid of subsidies.”
who are these people? are they ghosts?

punish subsidy but leave the people that use subsidy to impoverish the country

The plan is to create a monopoly out of the dangote refinery. This we all know. NNPC has four refineries it should focus on its rehabilitation and ensure they also produce gasoline but they're fixated on a private refinery.
This should tell you both dangote, NNPC and the Nigeria government are all in cohort to deprive Nigerians of enjoying energy freedom.

Below are countries that offer fuel energy subsidies to its citizens . Which of these countries is nigeria wealthier than. There are more than five extracts from vrude. Are we saying Nigeria cannot pay subsidy on just one product?
Why is a very poor country like Nigeria been exempted. They take Nigeria for granted

Advice from a madman? Dangote is the real definition of state capture. Not even state, na country capture. He is a business man, understood. But this continued drive at monopoly and edging out all competition should be on a leash. You got all kinds of subsidy and waivers building your refinery. Even your crude oil raw material is subsidized. Now you are producing and saying other people's subsidy should be removed. Most Nigerians are like this, they get there and ask that others should not be allowed.
Good point of view. He'll hold Nigeria prisoner

Ask yourself: Is Dangote for or against the masses? If what we have now is a partial removal of the subsidy, as Mr. Dangote wants us to believe, and the price of PMS is N1,100.00 per litre, how much do you think a litre of PMS will cost if the subsidy is completely removed, as Mr. Dangote is advocating?
