2005 it was N7,500 and that was Chanchangi Airline which was even expensive then..IRS was N3,500 if my memory serves me right.

note: I usually print out my tickets to OneNote, so I went back to a receipt for that time period and it 16,532 NGN, fees/taxes inclusive.

I don't know about now, but the pricing based on location when I was last bought tickets seemed weird.
Prices to the northern destinations were incredibly cheaper than anywhere to the east for the same Xmas period. I think I bought a ticket to a northern airport for 1/3 the price I bought one to the East. And the flight time would be less. I hope there is a business reason for that.

But, tickets even last Xmas made no sense. I made a reservation/hold for a flight to GH and when I went to pay it went up. Was pissed called in to enquire how a price on a reservation can go up and the rep said exchange rate. huh? I needed to make the trip, went to pay the new price and it went up again. All in a 2 hour period. And the rate was astronomical for a 1 hour and so flight to begin with anyhow.

But his post is misleading. The person probably used his miles/rewards he earned and then paid a small fee for using them.
That's not the price of the ticket.

1.) Where did you see a flight to borno for 25k
2.) The flight did not cost 2.5k. He most likely got the flight for 2.5k because he had miles/points/reward that he had earned from previous flights that he used to offset the price. Because you can offset the price based on rewards doesn't make that the real price.

The funny thing is I that Nigerians still think they have a country talk less of a middle class.

My first ever international flight was in 1983 with Nigeria Airways and I paid around N270 to London Heathrow and back to Nigeria. Things have gone terribly bad in Nigeria.

This is probably a mid week early morning flight and passenger volume would be usually low..... check same space between Thursday, Friday and Saturday then Sunday evening to Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Go ask yourself why international flight rates are reducing.....it's due to policies that were put in place by this govt, remember UK economy was as high as 3m at some point.

Now you all would start shouting subsidy for air fares or aviation fuel and same you would still come shouting that the govt doesn't care about the poor.....at our level of devt air travel is an elitist demand and has nothing to do with the poor......if you want to fly,pay for it.

In 2014, the very first time I entered flight from Lagos to Abuja, I paid 12k. I can't remember the airline I used because it was a new company doing promo.
In 2024, it's now over 200k.

I flew Medview Lagos to London 160k return ticket that year. Normally Turkish na like 220k - 260k Abuja to London for return ticket o.
BA be like 280k to 300k return normally sef. All that one na Abuja to Lagos be that nowadays. One of my guy fly Lagos to Abuja 240k one way this August.
