This is just like robbing Peter to pay Paul. How can school fees increment be for everyone but the students loan can not be for everyone who applied?

I'm honestly heartbroken. How can we call ourselves one Nigeria when tribalism is still tearing us apart, especially when it comes to something as crucial as education?

My brother, a hardworking student of a university in the South West, applied for the NELFUND student loan at the same time as his Yoruba coursemate. Both of them are struggling with the increased tuition fees imposed by the government. But while his coursemate’s loan was swiftly approved, my brother’s application is still pending. What’s even more painful according to him is that every single Yoruba student who applied got their loan without any issues, while Igbo students like my brother are left hanging, waiting, and hoping for some relief.

This isn't fair. The hardship in Nigeria affects us all. Everyone needs support, no matter where they’re from or what language they speak. Yet, it seems like tribalism has found its way into a program that was supposed to help us all equally. How do we justify this?

I’m calling on NELFUND and the Nigerian government to look into this. If we truly want to build a united country, we must treat every Nigerian fairly—whether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, or any other tribe. We’re all struggling, and we all deserve a chance to succeed.

You just need to understand the kind of people you are dealing with, they are one of the major reason why the country is the way it is, they don't see injustice as a crime as long as it is favoring them.

Look at them all over the thread here already justifying it, it's only a few of them who would oppose and do what is right and those ones are often challenged by the others and called bastards for doing the right thing...

If a childhood friend of over 30 years could tell my brothers to their face that an Igbo man cannot rule Nigeria because he is Igbo speaks a lot of the kind of people you are dealing with..
