Naira Depreciates To N1,680/$ In Parallel Market by NaijaCover(op): 7:26am On Sep 26, 2024
The Naira yesterday depreciated to N1,680 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,655 per dollar on Tuesday.

Similarly, the Naira depreciated to N1,667.42 per dollar in the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market, NAFEM.

Data from FMDQ showed that the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM rose to N1,667.42 per dollar from N1,658.48 per dollar on Tuesday, indicating N8.94 depreciation for the naira. The volume of dollars traded (turnover) in the official market declined by 39.6 percent to $100.47 million from $166.36 million traded on Tuesday.

Consequently, the margin between the parallel market and NAFEM rate widened to N12.58 per dollar from N3.48 per dollar on Tuesday.

They're all waiting for when it appreciates with 1 kobo, to celebrate the economic wonders of tinubus gwovumenti.

Its is one thing for your currency to be devalued beyond reason. It is a different ball game for an infective central bank not to be able to atleast stabilise the currency enough to help businesses make honest projections.

When they said Dangoted refinery will bring down exchange rate, I laughed at their ignorance.

Expect dollar to hit #1890 before end of October 2024.

If you have naira in your savings account, you are either a fool or an illiterate.

Ok… just to remind you all that Tinubu promised on 29th April 2023 that naira will exchange for 300 to the USD in the “short term”

This is over one year now.

Keep on wallowing in poverty and tribalism while you worship your oppressors.

Re: Naira Depreciates To N1,680/$ In Parallel Market by Originalsly: 8:37am On Sep 26, 2024
Naira will depreciate to at least 2000 within a month. Quote me later. Convert your savings today to US or sit on it and wait as it loses buying power. What N10K could've bought a month ago ... cannot buy same today ...and wayyy less a month from today. So why would you hold on to Naira?
Importers will now be competing for US to import goods for Christmas ... price for USD will continue to rise.

CodeTemplarr:
Speculation of currency is foolish. Since over a year now, people have been speculating for N2000 a dollar. If they had invested that same money into other productive ventures, it would have most likely taken their one dollar equivalent of Naira then to over N2000 but the dollar is yet to hit that mark.
Not when the government does a good job in frustrating whatever it is you try to do

APC said that with Dangote refinery coming on board, we will see immediate appreciation of Naira. Right now, same APC is trying to frustrate Dangote and Naira is having a free fall
