Gerrard59:My dad had a book that I read uncountable times. Some people will never see the acres of diamond in their surroundings. It takes someone else with a different outlook to see what those without more experience and localized experience cannot see. Exposure makes a difference. *Acres of Diamonds* is a motivational tale about an African farmer named Ali Hafed. Hearing stories of other farmers becoming rich by discovering diamond mines, Ali Hafed becomes obsessed with the idea of striking it rich. He sells his farm and embarks on a fruitless journey across the continent, searching for diamonds. Years later, worn out and disillusioned, Ali Hafed returns to his old farm, only to find that it has been bought by someone else. To his astonishment, the new owner discovers a vast diamond mine on the very land Ali Hafed had sold. The moral of the story is that opportunities often lie right beneath our feet, and we should be careful not to overlook them in our pursuit of far-off dreams. |

FEGEITOK:The Lebanese are making a killing in naija The Indians are making a killing in naija Tolaram (indomie) has been making a killing in naija. Though it may also be about having the resources and network. The medical tourism makes it clear there is a big medicine market in Nigeria. Even more so with our soaring inflation Add lack of any real regulation, a culture of acceptance of malpractice, the power of oyibo accent, and a returnee can hammer big time. |

He can. And if the business fails, he can always look back and say that he made an attempt and gave it his best shot. He always has the option to go back to the U.S. airsaylongcome: |

GloriousGbola:My point is that those returnees now see the opportunities where they ran away from, that they didn't see when they left. And now do what the Lebanese and co are doing by coming here |

After his has made so much money to establish himself here in Nigeria, and also might has gotten his US passport for himself and also for his family. Though it is a welcome development for him to come and establish something in Naija |

There are America and Europe trained doctors that decide to work in harsh environments all over the world for modest pay. They could be somewhere making amazing money, having a predictable schedule, and relaxing in their penthouse or brownstone. But some people feel a calling to bring their skills and knowledge to people who they feel need it more than the average person in America, Canada, or west Europe. |

DaddyCoool Stop lying. There are virtually no kidnappings for ransom in US or we'd be reading about them 🙄 |

Gerrard59:sorry about the late reply but i must confess that your last question got me thinking, about the main reason for the delay. i believe the poverty issue is a matter of th mindset. the mindset of the people is the problem, there is nothing you can do to convince someone who already believes that a witch is bad that a witch is good. i witnessed this mindset issue in all African countries i have been to, many of them look at Nigeria as their America and they want to come to Nigeria, they don't even see anything good in their own countries whereas we that are going there see the opportunities there and make money, major reason why you see Nigerians making it big in Ghana and other African countries. The second thing is that when you are in your place and country, you will tend to have a laid-back attitude to them, a relaxed comfortable approach without any sense of urgency,, but when you travel you get serious. Laways seem as if you are racing against time. The main reason why you will see some people saying they can't do certain jobs is because people around them know them but when they go out they usually do jobs more degrading than that happily as long as they make the money. even though our political problem is traced down to mindset, tribalism, and religious fanaticism all boils down to the mindset. I have said it many times that for Naija to change God needs to give everyone Nigerians at once a complete mental reset |

Gerrard59:Because most nigerian don't have sense Money's in Nigeria, only people that have sense get it |
| Re: JAPA: Nigerian Man Returns Back To Nigeria With His Family To Start Afresh (vid) by FEGEITOK: 9:29am On Sep 27, 2024 |
Kaczynski:It is very hard for a Nigerian moving to the United States to get a billion naira contract from the United States government. It is very easy for a Nigerian living in Nigeria that has sense and uses that sense to get a billion naira contract from the Nigerian government Of course you need to start small and build the confidence of the system and the people who run it in you. But because a lot of us want a 9 to 5 which is not a bad thing in itself, they never get to see those opportunities and thus never grab them. This is often why foreigners come and grab them and Nigerians who have gone out and come back also grab them. There is a lot of money in Nigeria if you look at the right places |

This mab should be celebrated both by the citizenry and the government. He should be encouraged and assisted by the state and federal government to deliver quality medical services to the people. Young doctors need to benefit from his experience |

FEGEITOK:Yes, it is great to see opportunity in your own land, but not everyone is cut out for it. A fast growing economy, especially one that produces jobs, to cater to all opportunity seekers, whether through work or through business is best. Most people use the work route to reach middle class status or even to become rich. It is the foundation. There isn't much opportunity to grab if your economy is not doing well, despite your business efforts. Many business men constantly complain of the business environment i.e. lots of unsold inventory. |
| Re: JAPA: Nigerian Man Returns Back To Nigeria With His Family To Start Afresh (vid) by grandstar(m): 10:21pm On Sep 27, 2024 |
DaddyCoool:The man isn't a slowpoke. He has seen a hole in the market and he is grabbing it with both hands. My dad had is lower right leg cut off due to diabetes. The doctor who attended to him was a Canadian based doctor who is now permanently here in Nigeria. His office is in Lekki phase 1. He charged us a flat fee of 1.8m then. This would be like 7.5m in todays exchange rate. Both are in the same field. He has seen a lucrative market here in Nigeria he can tap, and there's also the medical tourism market. Nigeria should be the leader in Africa but its failing to meet its potential. He isn't mad coming home. It is a very smart move. I have been abroad, and I can tell you something, there's nowhere like home. |

| Re: JAPA: Nigerian Man Returns Back To Nigeria With His Family To Start Afresh (vid) by DaddyCoool(f): 1:39am On Sep 28, 2024 |
Cousin9999:I think you're confusing Nigerians with somebody else. Nigerians don't play that shít - why you'd never catch a Nigerian doing something like climbing mount Everest just to climb it! |
| Re: JAPA: Nigerian Man Returns Back To Nigeria With His Family To Start Afresh (vid) by DaddyCoool(f): 1:42am On Sep 28, 2024 |
grandstar:He may also habour political ambitions. He looks the part. Though he said it's because his grandmother died of arthritis!😆 But just as people run away from Nigeria under certain situations (eg Bobrisky may soon run), so also people run back home due to conditions, usually because something is "chasing" them, and it can be anything |

Charmingrascal:You made a mistake. Until you move around the world or even your country you have a closed mind. Reading helps but not as much going to new places. If it is not too late, please go back and take up the offer. I know the guys behind getcleva dot com if they had not moved they wouldn't have founded getcleva. Taking advantage of both worlds the first world and the third world can only happen when you have a foothold in both |
