Edo Election Not A Yardstick For Judging Peter Obi’s Popularity – Obidient Movt by bennybuhari(op): 9:16am On Sep 27, 2024
The Obidient Movement on Friday says the outcome of the Edo governorship election cannot be used as a yardstick to judge the popularity of Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

The LP’s candidate, Olumide Akpata came a distant third with 22,763 votes while Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner after securing 291,667 votes. Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 247,274 votes.

Speaking in a chat with TheScrutiny, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, Interim National Coordinator, Obidient Movement World wide says as a loyal party member, Obi gave his best by going to Edo to campaign vigorously for the party’s candidate.

Tanko who also praised Akpata for a running an issue-based campaign alleged that the election weas marred by financial inducements and voter intimidation.

“The outcome of the Edo election cannot be a yardstick for judging His Excellency Peter Obi’s popularity. The truth of the matter is that he (Obi) as a very Obidient Labour Party member supported the candidate of the party, Olumide Akpata. With all sense of honesty, the candidate gave his very best”.

“However, we all saw what transpired during the election. The election was held in a very distasteful manner where money, election malpractices and voter intimidation reigned supreme”.

“For us as a group, the Obidient Movement, we know we are solidly on ground and we will continue to push for the right things to be done. This is the best time for us to have electoral reforms which will give us credible elections in the days ahead”.

“As far as His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi is concerned, he did what was expected of him as a loyal party member and he campaigned vigorously for the party’s candidate. The question should have been: What if he had stayed away from the campaign? What would people have said if he had not come to campaign for the party’s candidate?”.

These ones are still thinking the fraud is still working.

Obi fraud don expire.

Enugu PDP swept all the votes in the last LGA.

Same thing happened in Imo

We will see what Obi's waning popularity will do in Anambra upcoming LGA elections .

Also, no better place to test Obi's popularity than in the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial elections next year.

Solodu will flog whoever Obi annionts as his candidate.

Even fake drugs dey get expiration date.

You dey mind these obirodents.

Edo people couldn't care less if Obi and the Pope himself endorsed Akpata and the polls showed how unpopular LP has become all because of the Ndi IPOB members in LP.

When they told Obi to caution his IPOB fanatics in the Obidients he refused to comply now those ones with their uncouth utterances on social media especially the one that saw IPOB clowns insult the Oba of Benin and Bini women in particular that further deteoriated to Amakagate were all part of what saw to LP losing woefully.

A typical Edo man will not admit his mistake but will quietly move on.

This is what happened in Edo.

Edo people have dumped both LP and the Obidient mob movement.

And God bless them for that.

People are not interested in Labor party. Who people want is Peter Obi. It’s Obi and no one else.

That’s why Peter Obi won the last election and he will win again in 2027. This time, it will be landslide.

You are suffering from severe delusions.

Obi don cast.

He is now seen as the Ndi IPOB candidate that he is.

Even LP has factionalized over his divisiveness.

Tell Obi to begin talks with Accord Party .

Obi need every single state as much as he needs 2027 election, if LP were serious they should have push for more acceptable candidates from Edo state than Apata, one of the reasons APC win Edo is not because of rigging no, they choose there candidate from the zone that as been marginalized and their candidate is home based, PDP choose there candidate from Lagos the same thing LP.
