We made choices in 1979, we said the best man needed not to win. We made choices such that the great Odumegwu Ojukwu would say Awolowo the best president Nigeria never had.
What role did Ojukwu play with NPN in 1983 to deny Awolowo from being president in alliance with Azikiwe’s NPP party huh

He's talking nonsense. He was DG of OSBC for decades, even became an ambassador. What did those agencies or institutions achieve under him worth mentioning?

They only become brilliant once they are no longer in power.
I tell you you have no point. Is OSBC the criteria for improved economy? If he comes out tomorrow to reel out his performance at OSBC, same you will say it was a lie because you've seen anyone critical of this mess government as antagonist.
The message is not your problem but the messenger. Why is it so difficult for us as a people to dwell on the message rather than attacking the messenger in this country? With this mindset, we cannot grow as a country, always finding fault in those complaining that the country is getting worse.

He was connected to those in power right from the 70s. DG when NTA Ibadan was still NTV,ever before the creation of TSOS

Like he said, the civil service purge of 1975-76 destroyed Nigeria. After witnessing the unexpected retrenchment of their sterling superiors, and not to caught unaware civil servants started securing their future by stealing from the government

It was that idiot, bloodthirsty meniac and coup plotter called murtala Muhammad that destroyed the civil service which further retrogess Nigeria.

d total rotteness of Nigeria officially kicked off from 1990 down to dis present time based on how I met it!

1988 -1989 was still at least manageable.

Beautiful to read.
From what the man said though, there is no hope for Nigeria because we cannot change.
Even if Nigeria breaks up, that character will still remain.
Too bad.

You are wrong.

The total rottenness and retrogession of Nigeria start from 1976, from the time murtala Muhammad come to power down to this present time.

They are the ones that laid the foundation of the bad structure and system that totally crippled the political and economic progress of this country starting from the destruction of the civil service.

Go and read the article again.

There it is.

When some people remember how things used to be, they are often (unfairly) derided for their nostalgia about a past that never was. While things were definitely not perfect in the years the man has described, things were better than what they have become. Things were better, no question.

Changing course is nigh impossible now. An entire generation (waiting to take over the reins of leadership) has grown up knowing no other way but the crooked way of doing things. How will this new generation fix things when they have no real desire to? They will stick with what they are familiar with.

Dr. Farounbi should have been much, much harsher in criticizing his generation in this interview. After all, they were in charge till we got to this point.

I do not think so. They still vote their oppressors. Maybe in the next 30 years we might scratch the code, please not crack but scratch. Before Nigeria will change, hopefully all is destroyed before we get sense. I sée no hope iñ my generation soon.

The only solution to the Nigerian quagmire is to throng along. Whoever dies first should be buried and life goes on. It is pointless slipping into depression thinking about the Nigerian mess.

The worst part is that Tinubu will still come back in 2027.
Let me not say that most Nigerians are cursed. Watch and you will see the stadium filled to capacity with people celebrating his coming back.

Turn on the TV on coming Independence Day to see the red carpet and fanfare these people will organize for their enslavers.
This is what I've been wondering for almost 20 year's

Makes me believe idiot himself is a Nigerian

Nigeria can never grow with this your mindset, when you keep dwelling on a red herring fallacies instead of you to face the bitter truth.
That oldie is talking reality, (agreed) but who you quoted is speaking fact in it's rawest form

If Papa was in this government, he won't speak up, neither will he play his own little part to still better the situation.
