There was literally no election in the state yesterday. Absence of either electoral officials or results sheets in many quarters marred the entire process. Yet, APGA won 21/21... What a life 😢
When I saw the outcome of Enugu election last week I laughed. I knew same will be replicated in Anambra.

So I am not surprised.

It is INEC that made Soludo to go host his daughter's wedding in Abuja?
How many of them still go home? Were they online talking about the Election like they did in Lagos and Edo?
Later, they will start to cry and turn to keyboard warriors when APC takes over.
Which kind nonsense you dey talk. No one believe in the electoral so don't come here to talk rubbish

The list of winners were compiled last month before that court case. So why should the people go and waste their time at the polls?

You are the one talking rubbish here. They don't in Anambra from time.
Less than 10% voted in the Election that brought Soludo in, did he complain?
Was Soludo's Election not before Chinedu of Lagos' Election?
Did they put the effort they put in Lagos Election in Anambra Election? No!
They are running away from home, likewise the Governor and his daughter.

what concerns us with the governor's choice of venue?

Victim mentality, the highly abused word from Nairaland Yorubas. They don't vote in Anambra, I guess our governors, house of reps, senate are all appointed.

Why did Soludo take his daughter's wedding to Abuja?
Less than 10% voted for 3 candidates in the Anambra Governorship Election, that's why Soludo won the Election.
When APC members go and vote en mass there and win, they will prefer to cry on keyboard.

I participated in the election.
Polling units close to the council areas are the ones that voting took place.
Other polling units, had the votes cast by proxy.
It's Produced and directed by APGA.
It's manual voting after all.
No other political parties are interested, except few YPP guys.
Until Federal INEC starts conducting Council Elections like they do with Governors /NASS and presidential.
It will remain a shamble.
Which inec the one led by yakubu? If inec is allowed to conduct it any party in power at the federal level will definitely manipulate the election in their favour like they are currently doing with presidential and governorship elections. It's better to leave it for the governors to manupulate than for the president to use it to destabilise states the opposition is leading.

Why would anyone be interested in Local Government elections when it is the party in power that will conducting the elections?

when it is selection,not election.
Allow INEC or National Electoral Indepent bidy to conduct Local Government election and you will see massive turnout.
That is total autonomy forLG
Law doesn't allow
It's up to SIECs
Opposition should always be ready for snap elections

This is the strategy most of the governors are adopting in conducting the local government elections. There won't be any sensitization on the upcoming elections;

Opposition job

they will delay the arrival of INEC materials in connivance with scrupulous officials;

Tell your voters to stay there the whole day or text them when materials arrive

elections will be held with fewer or no voter and boom!, results would be announced and all the annointed candidates by the governor are sworn in. Those praising president Tinubu for signing local government autonomy into law do not understand Nigeria. The governors can go at any length to maintain total control of local government funds, its allocation and expenditures.

Why don't opposition go to any length to win

Do you think that the governor of Kano state would allow the 44 local governments chairmen to control the huge allocations that comes into the local governments account from the federation account? He would do everything to maintain control and dish out patronage as he wishes. The control of the local government gives the governors unfettered powers to control the grassroots and maintain political power. As they say, "politics is local." How do you expect the governors to relinquish control of that local structure of the politics? In Nigeria, money is everything and who controls the money, controls the people and influences decisions, actions and outcomes.
shebi opposition will also win one day and do same. Ojoro cancel then
The unfettered power that can caused for bad can also be used for good if one so wishes

Both issues are not the same thing. Local government elections should never have been handed over to the states to conduct. INEC should have been the ones doing it, as they used to.

They minute they gave it over to states to conduct, they effectively made the Governor's owners of the elections

Abuja is the capital of the country and the residential area of his daughter and the husband. The couples do not live in the East initially, they just decided to do their thing in their place of residence instead of their home state. It only raised dust in your warped mind. Many Hausa and yoruba people living in the East do their weddings here.
