Let us assume you are correct that he is the only one in all Nigeria who have such credentials but we have the quota system for entrance into most aspects of Nigerian society and based on this even lagos state exploited the opportunity in university admissions, army recruitment etc , federal government colleges entrances are done in a way that every part of Nigeria is made to feel a part of it, same is done in the USA , we Nigerians rode on the back of the freedoms fright for by the African Americans to slide into colleges and high end opportunities ( diversity) so it is the right thing to do to spread his appointment across the breath of the country if he is serious about building a great country , no he is not and neither are u his followers and if u are talking about merit let’s then apply merit to all aspects of Nigeria life , from college admissions to recruitment, how will u fare? How will ur state fare? You have had the advantage of being in power since 1966 , exploited the country to bones and left it in tatters and still on same path

The next Guber election in Oyo will probably be between Tegbe and Adelabu -both Fellow Chartered Accountants who rose to the pinnacle of their careers before venturing into politics. Either of them shouldn't be a liability for Oyo

Trust me, if we apply merit solely to these positions, the SW would come out on TOP. Check the result of the presidential scholarship programme that GEJ started sometimes back. At some point, it was 70%+ dominated by SW.

But I agree with you that, that wouldn't be good for nation building in an ethno-religiously volatile complex like Nigeria.

The best thing that I always advise is to completely devolve power at the center to regions/states/geopolitical zones, so that we have much lesser things to fight over at the center and most to fight for amongst our own.

We could have a United Republic of autonomous regions with options to secede embedded in a new federal constitution for a start.
