Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the Rivers State local government election scheduled to hold on October 5, 2024, would hold and conducted as the most peaceful and credible elections in the state.

Fubara said he had already received briefing from the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, (RSIEC) on court order mandating the agency to conduct the elections in the state, with the full support of security agencies, assuring that the state electoral umpire would be given the necessary supports to conduct the elections successfully.

I think it should be so because the supreme court has ruled that elections should be conducted in less than three months through out the federation, so a lower court cannot over rule the supreme court by stopping elections in Rivers state
