Whether we like it or not, our two tenure of 4 years is almost same as single tenure of 8 years. How many governors or president rule for only 4 years as compared to those that rule 8 years. Seating president or governors always find a way to rig their way into office. Left for me a single 5 year term is better than this 8 years nonsense.

My own is that they should make the ruining of Nigeria rotational by the six geo political regions constitutional.
Yoruba and Fulani have had their turns in ruining this country they should allow other regions contribute in ruining Nigeria like they have done.

This four years is still better than 6 year term. The citizens can vote for any president who is not doing well out but in six years the pain will be too much on the citizen if the president is not doing well. I can't wait to vote for the 2027 election

The 6years one tenure is far better than the 8years two tenure system because many of them still didn't achieve anything for the 8years all because they're cautious on how to win the second tenure than doing anything for the first tenure and as well ended up not doing anything after winning it.

Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.

Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Where are the performances you're talking about? Where are buharis and Tinubus "two years" wonderful performances? Has the country not been practicing 4 years double tenures that has ruined everything and accentuated the level of ethnic acrimony across regions? Copying everything done in America, is part of our political problems in Nigeria. Who needs a bicameral Legislature at Abuja for instance, when all of tinubus bills are passed with ease?

Imagine the billions that could be saved if we only have a single house of less than 60 men as the National Assembly. Atiku seems to be the only one amongst them, that is worried about what is going on. Few days ago, he warned everyone of the dangers of a "one party state", and some were laughing because they are currently ontop. They will soon cry when they're at the receiving end. He seems to understand that an illegitimate president, can not spur a nation towards political peace and economic growth.

In parliamentary system of government, there is maximum or minimum for the head of government hence Liz Truss was PM of UK for just 1 month.
