these types of people used to think dem dey enjoy with A/C on 24 hours a day grin grin

power minister is a smart man

GerogeI:
If you are in band A,
To reduce your bill, and turn the 24 hours into advantage,
1. Put your refrigerator on half duty cycle, it should be off at night. You either use a timer switch (cost about 10k on Jumia) or you switch it off and on manually - labour intensive. Any night you forget is about 2 kwh or credit units or about N500.

2. Invest in grid tied Solar system. This takes advantage of the 20 hours power availability. You do not need to buy batteries, but you need a good Hybrid solar inverter with grid connection. For every 4 used solar panels, you will produce 1kwh of electricity daily. The more you have the more you produce. As a rule of thumb, each 300w solar panel will give you an average of 50w for 5 hours or 250wh or 0.25kwh.

A normal house with lighting TV and refrigerator, without Air conditioner consumes about 6 kwh daily. Putting your refrigerator on day cycle will reduce 1.5 kwh or credit units leaving 4.5. Adding 5 solar panels, will reduce it to 3.5 kwh. Adding 10 Solar panels will reduce it to 2.5 kW hour. Because you must use lighting and fan at night, you cannot go lower than 2.5 kwh daily without investing in Storage batteries which are the costliest part of solar with 2 or 3 years short life span.

At 2.5 kwh per day your electricity bill for band A will be 2.5 x30 days x N230= N18000 approx. Not bad for 24 hours light.

Lol. Nigerians and adjusting. Nobody can adjust like Nigerians. That's why, all around the world, they are the most resourceful.

But sha, while you adjust, all the "government" needs is to then keep increasing the tariff so that even the 3 hours will fetch them the money they want. That's how it goes.

We better find a way to organize and eliminate the power they have on the masses.

Meanwhile, there a lot of people who can't afford to adjust.

Exactly. The moment they start taxing groceries and any item you buy, that would be the end of pseudo-capitalism and the birth of capitalism proper in Nigeria. Family planning will follow naturally and we will begin to have a quality population overtime
family planning has started sef.... People no dey born anyhow again o

Wait! Which one is we shàll survive,no be like that life suppose dey? For obodoyinbi that we admire ,no be like that they use their life ? But for Nigeria,we want everything free so that we can waste it,my own is let the light be available when I nned it,let me get it that time

Mitsurugi:
Be innovative. Find ways to conserve power. Switch off power from the change over when you're not around. There are times when you really don't need power on. One of my friends uses one AC from the living room to cool the entire house (apartment though). Everyone just opens the bedroom door to collect share.

We can survive Tinubu smiley

Dem Wan finish my guy man with light.... I was telling someone that light has improved, dem think say na joke.... Na bad news dey always sweet people.... I'm not a supporter of dis administration but light has improved

I think what dis administration is doing is to make everybody start working and hustling like they do abroad... If you no pay ur bills abroad, you won't have light or water.... So people take up multiple jobs jst to pay their bills

D situation in d country is something like that now, if u no comut work now ehn, na hunger go finish you, with d level of shege dis administration is showing us...
Very true.

You people are hard to please. You said you want 24hours light like other nations and you were given 20hours in some locations. Now the story has changed. It's no longer give us power but it's too expensive. So, basically you want everything to be on Subsidy or free. Was that how America and other nations developed ? Even the smaller West African countries around us are paying more for their steady electricity. You want to go to heaven without dieing. Funny people.
Some in Band C and D still enjoy constant power supply. Why are they rubbing Peter to pay Paul
