How will the naira appreciate? Imagine our president is going on a vacay to UK. He will need to source for foreign currency against naira. Naira is hopeless abeg. It's a miracle it's value is still pegged below tukay. |

Brendaniel:Most people in every country in the world tend to have religious, tribal or racial bias. Nigerians have more pronounced parochial tendencies because they live under a socialist system. So patronage of government is essential to prosper. Good Luck to Nigeria |

When u buy a litter of pms at 1200 and u expect Naira to appreciate. That means #120 under Buhari is #1200 under useless Tinubu |

I'm beginning to believe Tinubu is a clown I think he has this warped belief that any time naira depreciates at parallel market, it should also be made to depreciate at official market to "close the gap" Even i, a secondary school economist knows this is harebrained because parallel market does not get supply like official market. Instead of him to investigate the reason for the massive pull and nip it, he's simply killing the naira to satisfy some dark demands Nigerians are on a long thing with this man |

Everybody quickly forgot how this man submitted a budget that states about 200milionaire for one borehole and thousands of boreholes was quoted. That was the day I lost my respect for him. This man does not even send us, even if dollar later becomes 1 naira, for this single act, I will never forget. I used to be a huge fan of him, but i hate when people treat us like "there's nothing you can do " Even if you want to embezzle public funds, hide money in project that we don't have much knowledge about like roads construction of dams or refineries. But borehole!! , I did one some months ago for 300k. And there's no one to report them to, they own the military and the chief judge. Forget this man abeg. Kukutenla: |

I suspect the infusion of cash into the system following the new minimum wage may be at fault. In addition, the budget deficit is still quite high, which by itself is inflationary. The higher your inflation, the more likely your currency depreciates. The CBN is also running a loose monetary policy by keeping interest rates below the rate of inflation. This too will keep the Naira weak, and increase the possibility of it depreciation. |

Brendaniel:you are so correct - now they will be regretting exchange rate in the 21st century is not based on hype - but production and rendering of valuable services, no real electoral reforms.. not in Nigeria - insecurity everywhere - justice system tainted by scandals and given to the highest bidder, no electricity, government lies... where is the rise of the naira against the dollar coming from? you cant wish or pray it into existence - it takes real work to get it. |
