Random post: omo I just realized kpop is now more popular than dramas. Once upon a time, idols had to get cast in dramas to boost their popularity but these 4th and 5th gen idols are making enough through touring, streaming and album sales that they don't need dramas again. I think the last group of idols that needed drama roles to get popular are Cha Eun woo, sejeong and bona. If dramas were still important for popularity, members of zerobaseone, Jang wonyoung, itzy, twice blackpink and BTS members would have been in every drama but they don't need that again. I think another issue is the fact that the amount of dramas produced has reduced. Over 500 dramas used to be produced in a year but now thanks to streaming services like Netflix where it takes a year to produce a drama and every production company wanting to sell their work to Netflix, we're having like 100 plus dramas released in a year. I guess you better be glad if your fave still manages to get cast in good dramas
