Don't forget, Nigeria was a better and enabling nation at the time. By the 90s, Nigeria don dey rotten and it would require you to be particularly spectacular to be that relevant at that age, hence my amazement.

This misinformation of Gowon being 29 when he became head of state has been going on for long and it seems like everyone has endorsed it.
How could Gowon who was born in 1934 be 29 years in 1966 ? He took over in July , let's assume his birth month is at the year end , he should at least be 31 years when he took over and must have clocked 32 in the same 1966 . Yakubu Gowon was 29 years in 1963 and if what we were taught is true, Tafawa Balewa and Nnamdi Azikiwe held sway throughout 1963 infact that was the year Nigeria became a republic. So ,I don't know where this popular believe that Gowon became head of state at the age of 29 is coming from or does it means that simple mathematics have failed Nigerians ?

I don't understand what you are saying, who was my man ? I only commented to point out the error in this"Gowon was 29 when he took over" which I have been hearing since my childhood. .
I don't know and nothing concerned me with the late senator. By the way Elrufai as the FCT minister accused him of demanding for bribe from him some years ago when he was a senator.
