How can this evil government get their priorities right in the poverty capital of the world
Don't mind freestuffng. Always defending evil because of crumbs from master's table.

He must know his relations may not be lucky like him if he's being rewarded for defending Tinubu and government.

It is actually brilliant and it's effect is positive on the environment and their livelihoods.
Single Use Plastics are more expensive and the social cost is becoming unbearable to the rest of us not in the sectors profiting from the use of SUPs. The sachet water has since outlived its usefulness and has turned to complete nuisance apart from making water more expensive.
These old archaic environmental practices need to give way and I am profoundly proud that my Lagos State is taking the lead.

The waste has started reducing since the ban on Styrofoam and once we sort out the SUP of bottled water and waste sachet from pure water, we would have solved a huge environmental and economic problem.

The bottled water can come in cheap reusable plastics while sachet water will suddenly become more expensive so the stakeholders now earn more margins as more people move to reusable bottled water and later biodegradable containers.

Jan 2025 is long enough advance notice and I urge the stakeholders to cooperate with the Lagos State Government.

This is the best time to invest in Lagos. Invest in Lagos for great returns on your investment and best investor-friendly experience in Nigeria and Africa.

You have left me more confused than you met me. I have asked you for more information, but you have told me to go figure it out myself.

You cannot compare the concept of reusability of packaging materials in the edible food industry to that in the water industry. Dispensable reusable water containers are suitable for relaxed environment like homes, hotels, banks, etc. How do you expect water to then be sold in fast-paced environments like market places, traffic jams, etc? Do you expect people to walk about with reusable water containers? What about the risk of contamination of these containers? Is it easier to wash and disinfect reusable food containers than water bottles? We stand a risk of having an outbreak of water-borne diseases here

The government is set to ban SUPs in less than 4 months time, but there is no suitable alternative in place. By the time they implement the ban, they will only succeed in creating a black market for that industry where things will only become more expensive and task force will extort companies indiscriminately.
Below is an example of a reusable plastic bottle water. You can drink the water and reuse/return for recycling or refilling by the water company and in both medium and long-term, water becomes cheaper and our environment is better for it. This is not rocket science.

We have been stuck on 'pure water' sachet and single Use Plastics for too long to the embarrassment of many of us who are willing to think out of the box and provide practical and credible options to our current and future challenges. There's even the option of biodegradable packaging as well that we are even yet to explore!

Use of nylon sachet and SUP at such huge scale on a daily basis is unsustainable and it is now even far expensive along with its huge social cost we are passing to even unborn generations.

You don't need to agree with me and it's fine with me.
Thank you sir.

So what is the clean alternative for the upper &lower middle class, what of the poor which is 90%of the population, is there running clean water for the masses? So this is final one that might tip the boat over.

Pet bottles cannot be banned in Nigeria. Even more developed countries have not banned it, instead they are collected, recycled and used for other products.
I watched a documentary where pet bottles when recycled are used for road construction in Singapore.

Nonsense and banning everything!!
do our leaders think their policies through prior to implementation? They'd rather think later; after the damages have been done.

If any body is still in Nigeria and is still behind these political parties If you're voting for APC or PDP it means you lack sense and something is worrying you.when you belong to these party it's closes your eyes to reality,it closes your eyes to real logic, you're sold on the agenda of where you belong to,that that is the best thing that could ever happen and any other things doesn't matter, where all our leaders those in power and those that intend to be in power and the younger ones everybody are the same, everybody is bankrupt everybody is morally deficit honestly,so there's no remedy .
For Nigeria to be fix a program has to be drawn and sustained from outside and implemented here, just as they ran slave Era for years and begin to deal with our leaders.

Have they provided alternative?
For once, I see you question the actions of your beloved government.
I guess you're now understanding what it means to be patriotic rather than partisan.

Please, what alternative has government provided for people staying in Iyana oworo, ogudu, Lagos Island, Ajah, Satellite Town and other places that have terrible water? How many people in Lagos can afford a water treatment plant?

APC don't think before they act. I know by the time they implement it and people start to protest, they will start sharing rice.

Useless people

I don't care if other state do the same since pure water manufactures are turning themselves into gods already manipulating buyers and believing they are indispensable.

All i care to know is that they are able to provide a better, cheaper and and sustainable alternative. If provision is made for an alternative to hell with pure water dealers.

Educating lagosians on how to keep their environment clean is a waste of time and resources because some people from the brown zinc state will not adhere to it, so it’s better this way
