But since I use money go watch Aquaman 2 for cinema this January out of curiosity. I fit still stick to am. But these ratings and word of mouth from many fans ain't encouraging at all.

Seems that decision to make it a musical hurt after all.

Apart from the bad story telling, crappy music sequences that did not add to the plot but just made it longer- the main reason it'll definitely flop is simply its preachiness. It's trying to preach to the fans of the first film - the fans saw Joker as a fuvk u to society and Todd Phillips kept on telling the fans they are wrong in this movie and that's just so stupid - all this Hollywood directors don't learn lessons when they get ahead of themselves just because their movie did well- YOU DON'T ANTAGONISE THE FANS🤦🏽‍♂️🤦‍♂️

lol The movie was just there but not bad as people here are saying .. Definitely need a subtitle to enjoy because deadpool talks fast and a lot ..

Let us not pretend that Todd Phillips boasts an exceptional filmography; prior to "Joker," most of his films varied from mediocre to utterly unwatchable, with his only major success with critics and audiences being "The Hangover." If one has committed to creating a standalone masterpiece, then one must also commit to rejecting any financial offers to return if the film proves successful. Money serves as their primary leverage, as no one's going to hold a bloody gun to your head.

Accepting such offers implies that you believed you could replicate the success of your initial project or surpass it. Any complaints following the failure of the new movie amounts to capital COPE, and it's his reputation going down the drain. Why did he not allow them to hire another director for the task? Because, presuming he continued to decline as you all suggest, that is precisely what they would have done.

He simply didn't have it in him to recreate the magic of the first.

And just like he did for the hangover, I was always skeptical of this joker sequel.
Making it a musical when Joaquin Phoenix who isn't known for singing as the lead was when something wasn't right.

But can't lie, I wanted it to prove me wrong, too bad sha..

I haven't seen a single person that likes it. I'm glad I didn't spend my money on it. I watched it on IMAX and still almost slept off😂 don't waste your money brother. Is the Wild Robot and/or the Substance playing in Nigeria? If not keep your money or watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - that's the only movie worth watching for now.

No offense but I don't see WICKED doing a billion.
It would have to do impossible numbers to be able to reach that milestone.
I know it's a very popular musical but I don't seeing it being enough for that worldwide gross. It'd most likely over-index in North America and some European countries but I don't see it juice up to $1bn. The best case scenario I see for it with mad performance is $700mn-800mn+ worldwide.

In fact, I'd pick Joker Folie Á Deaux a possible billion dollar film over Wicked.
Why?
*It's done it before. Has more credibility to do it than Wicked. Wicked also has a massive competitor to face in Disney's MOANA 2 a few weeks after release. They'd justle for same audience. So that movie is definitely gonna impact Wicked's gross.

*Lady Gaga also brings her own set of fans to the DC brand. That's a new fanbase that would probably replenish the lost steam Joker might have garnered.
Joker is also leaning on a mix of musical too.

*The addition of a new Harley Quinn iteration is also a big draw. Every ardent DC fan knows Harley Quinn is easily the highest selling female comic book character in terms of merchandise. In fact she's regarded as DC's third pillar, Wonder Woman doesn't even come close and she even outsells Superman. And she's very very popular with girls, t£enage girls at that.

*The Joker is also the most popular and recognisable CBM villain of all time. So there's that. We've seen before @dults are willing to go out enmasse to watch what they want regardless of no kids demography since COVID ie Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman, Dune Part 2, Venom 1&2.

This movie is also almost as controversial as the first. So more juice of the same.

So there's many variables at play for these two movies. Don't be quick to write Joker off. The same way you can bring many PROS for Wicked, I can do same for Joker 2.

Although, I see Joker 2 doing $720-850mn. It has better chances of doing a billion than Wicked. The only advantage I see for Wicked here is cos of it's PG rating.
