Please, enlighten us on why you support this. Thank you.
1. Before pure water we have been drinking water
2. The sachet is become a huge environmental and health danger for a state like Lagos.
3. We can still make do with water bottles which u fill up and take along.
4. Water from the tap will foster communial living that will make up bond with eachother better. A shared resource brings people together

When same ordinary man could not receive I'm a simple way definitely in hard way it shall be delivered to him. We are too dirty in Nigeria and we don't care about our environment and at the end we blame govt for nonchalant attitude. When people buy bottle water or pure water especially while in the traffic they littered the road with nylon of bottle and when you try to sensitise them they will insult you.
Why is government not punishing defaulters causing environmental pollution??

They are banning the nonsense water they call pure water. Not recyclable, not biodegradable, not environment friendly at all and not good for consumption
So biscuits, sweets, bread will no longer come in Nylon then??

Coke, Fanta, etc, will no longer come in plastic bottles??

Has it occurred to you that plastics are doing more damage to Lagos? 90% of the flooding in Lagos is due to plastic rubbish clogging local gutters.
Yes bro... No more plastic coke, pepsi etc... it's better... At least👌, these companies will reduce their workers to go back home...

It is actually brilliant and it's effect is positive on the environment and their livelihoods.
Single Use Plastics are more expensive and the social cost is becoming unbearable to the rest of us not in the sectors profiting from the use of SUPs. The sachet water has since outlived its usefulness and has turned to complete nuisance apart from making water more expensive.
These old archaic environmental practices need to give way and I am profoundly proud that my Lagos State is taking the lead.

The waste has started reducing since the ban on Styrofoam and once we sort out the SUP of bottled water and waste sachet from pure water, we would have solved a huge environmental and economic problem.

The bottled water can come in cheap reusable plastics while sachet water will suddenly become more expensive so the stakeholders now earn more margins as more people move to reusable bottled water and later biodegradable containers.

Jan 2025 is long enough advance notice and I urge the stakeholders to cooperate with the Lagos State Government.

This is the best time to invest in Lagos. Invest in Lagos for great returns on your investment and best investor-friendly experience in Nigeria and Africa.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
For the first time, I will support u joor

I want it to be extended to Abuja and other parts of 9ja

Another thing I want government to look urgently into again is open defication . Here in fct, all d drinages are liller with poopoo. I wish government will urgently do something about it

Prevention is better than cure.

Prevent the problem by reducing the plastic content of the rubbish and react to the problem by penalising people
So what will happen to those people that have have boreholes, or where their water is not good for borehole, and they can't buy pure or bottle water again?

Pet bottles cannot be banned in Nigeria. Even more developed countries have not banned it, instead they are collected, recycled and used for other products.
I watched a documentary where pet bottles when recycled are used for road construction in Singapore.

Nonsense and banning everything!!
If dem born you well, take plastic bottle and put in general waste on the advanced countries

They know what recycling is, we just throw them on the road

Satchet water became prominent when pipe borne water couldn't get to houses again

Why not make houses get portable water first from public sources before banning

..

Maybe they intend to distribute bottle water for free

When individuals lacking critical thinking skills and those who pursue education solely for certification hold positions of power, one can expect to witness unwise policies from the highest levels of authority to the grassroots, shameless leaders

Can't we adopt best practices? Nigeria is the only country in the world that I have seen this shii.. Water shouldn't be sold in cellophane sachets. Microplastics are very dangerous to the human body.

I have lived in countries where we don't even buy bottled water, we get well-treated, directly from the filtration chamber that is fitted in every kitchen and connected to the public water supply. All we do is to change the filter every 6 months.

Nigerians are so short-changed. They suffer for everything. Bad governance has finished us. How can someone get into power without knowing what he's there for?

Nigerian politicians are devils. Red devils.

Water corporation - Not working
NEPA - Dead as fawk
Refineries - Dead for decades
Universities - Always on strike
Doctors - Always on strike
Pensioners - Monies always embezzled
Police - Don't even start..

Coke, fanta and the rest come in recyclable, reusable packages and can be managed. If we mean business, we can reduce, reuse or recycle. Biscuits and candy wrappers are made out of a combination of plastic and aluminum. They are almost impossible to recycle because it's extremely difficult to separate the two materials. However, because of people's sweet tooth, we can only Reduce consumption while the campaign on its health implications continue. As for pure water, the nylon is neither reusable nor recyclable...also not biodegradable

This is good. Change is the only constant thing. There's nothing wrong with people moving about with water bottles and it also helps with cutting cost.

It can be consumed by heat??

If this is not viable, what is a cheaper alternative especially for low income households,?

Not only in Singapore but in Africa too, Nigeria, Rewanda, and even Ghana. Not just interlocks but ropes, belt, shoes.

Those clamouring for ban on Single use plastics and other packaging items should know that it's fellow Nigerians like them that they are putting out of jobs.. In saner climes, they will look for means to solve the challenges posed by improper disposal of plastics and packaging materials but in Nigeria, we opt for the easiest way out which is "outright ban" as if beheading a patient is the way to cure his/her headache.

Ban sachet water, PET bottle water etc. and start selling 'paper bag water' or 'leaf water' in traffic.
