are you not aware that the present IGP was once tinubus ADC and that he is supposed to have retired but tinubu had to forward a bill to the national assembly that changed certain provisions of the police act so as to keep him in office till now?

I think the NBA man is speaking and directing his speech wrongly....
The NBA should question the judgment of the judge who that order which stands against the mandatory and compulsory duty of the NPF rather than questioning the position of the NPF in wanting to carry out that order.

While the NBA is concerned about this political issues in Rivers State at this point in time, I can't remember the NBA at any point in time questioning the order of the NPF ordering hospitals and Nigerian Doctors in the country not to treat individuals with gunshot wounds and the Nigerian Doctors have not complained about same which goes against their sacred oaths of professionalism to save life first. We have not even talked of the one that hospitals demand money from people before treatment even emergency situations....
This country is a big circuit of comedians.

Now, let's even assume that the police wants to obey the court order. Why did they try to seize electoral materials in the night? Was that part of the court order too?

The court said don't provide security for the election. The Rivers State government said no wahala. Keep your security, but the election will go on (the court never barred the election from holding). So, what's the fuss about?

1) If APC loses the election and goes to court. Is there a provision in the INEC guidelines that invalidates the election due to absence of security personnel?

2) Does this mean ballot snatching/stuffing will be permitted in some strongholds due to the absence of the police?

3) Since the court judgement said THE POLICE. Can Civil Defence and other Paramilitary act in place of the police?

Let's forget election, can court tell police not to secure the citizens on a normal day not to talk of an election day that they are needed most? What's the primary jd of the police?.

Anyone who knows about Rivers state, knows that election is never conducted, the election materials are hijacked and the inec officials are kidnapped by thugs and held hostage while the result sheets are manipulated, if you dare refuse to let them have their way, you will meet your maker same day. After all the manipulation and rigging, the official are given brown envelops. It is a battle that only the toughest guy with most hooligans can win.

it's so sad to see. How can a sane judge give such order?.And the police didn't find it necessary to appeal. The know what they are doing. Someone is clearly controlling them. Protection of lives and properties is a constitutional rights of the police and it's non negotiable.
