If anything untold happen in Rivers State, the president and his cohorts will be held responsible because Rivers State has been a very delicate state when it comes to election matter and politics. I just pity the policemen working in that environment because those militant boys will not spare anyone one sight when the breakdown of law and order manifest. Rivers State is not a SW or northern states where one man take charge. SS states are very delicate for election and politics.

It is sad that because of the personal hatred some people have for Wike the current Governor is allowed to waste the State resources on an election that is certain to be declared a nullity in it’s aftermath upon a challenge in Court!

I don't think the RSIEC bar any party from fielding candidates, except you see any such directive, please post it here for people to know how to vent their anger properly. Instead of PDP and APC to submit candidates for the election, they were shopping for court orders to stop the election, whereas they forgot that the RSIEC is armed with supreme court judgement that says election into local government administration should be conducted within three months of their judgement. They don't know that their shopping orders cannot override the judgement of the highest court of the land. I repeat no lower court order can override the supreme court judgement. That's just the gospel truth and everyone must live by it. Except you want to claim some people are bigger than our laws.

Let me first ask you a very serious question. Can the order of any lower court overrides the judgement of the supreme court of the land? I hope you're aware that the supreme court in her judgement in a case filed by the Attorney General of the Federation on behalf of the federal government against all the state governors ordered that all states with no known elected officials at the local government level should do so within three months of their judgement.
Now, if you're a governor and you have handy these two orders, which one would you obey?
Meanwhile, your complain of giving three months notice before the conduct of the election. I remember that the announcement were widely made over three months ago that there will be conduct of local government election on 5th October, 2024. Well, may be they were expecting to be written to individually. I don't think the law stipulates that.
Finally, no court of the land can render the conduct of today's election nullity as all of them must comply with supreme court judgement. All they need doing is to tender the judgement of the supreme court to them at the court and let us see any judge that will say their order supersedes the judgement of the honourable justices of the supreme court. Lobatan!

My answer to your question is that the law envisages lawful obedience to the order of court and statute. You must obey the order of court in the manner provided for doing so. The Local Government Chairman the Governor seeks to put in place will not have FG and RMFAC recognition with the implication that they will not have access to funds meant for their LGs. The Governor can funnel his humongous security votes to run the LGs but that will weaken him politically as it would be a huge leak in his war chest prepping for future political skirmishes. The Supreme Court judgment is not in issue here. Watch out for the aftermath in court. Hon Justice Peter Lifu is watching the parties in 3D!

Get my point straight, the only people that can change the narrative are the electorates and massive infrastructural development from the governor. But he chooses to keep fighting his godfather at the expense of development.

Which structure? APP,that was what they wanted,for him to leave PDP .....hope you are already aware of the trouble all ready brewing in the same APP to factionalise then as they have done LP.
