Is It A Crime To Help A Dead Person On The Road? by SonOfHercules(op): 6:07pm On Oct 06, 2024
Yesterday morning, while coming back from work, I saw a crowd gathered round a lifeless body on the road. Since I was in a hurry, I didn’t want to get involved. So I just passed the crowd thinking something would be done.

Today I decided to pass the same route and I saw the body in front of someone’s shop. The body had been covered with a sack. The man looked like a Fulani or northern man. I was scared thinking why they couldn’t call the police or an ambulance. I wanted to call but I was scared thinking about the possible outcome.
I was just sad seeing the man there without any help.

I couldn’t take pics because I don’t trust Lagos thugs and. I didn’t call the police because Nigerian police are not to be trusted.
Now I’m thinking if someone had called the police why would have happened or if I should call now what would be the outcome?

Nigeria is run in such a way that you dared not help a dying person easily without being hunted.
The system believed that mercy is a taboo.

Really sad. The way the young man was left there. It’s really disheartening.

Really sad about this new development. The Nigerian military should do something because people are even afraid to approach them. #hungerdey, but let the military not vent their frustration on us abeg.

You appear to be kind because you are still broke. When you become wealthy, even if you see 100 dead bodies crammed outside your door, you wouldn't even blink an eye.
