So Nnpcl is tired already. Besides other oil marketers are buying from Dangote refinery already. All the petroleum we are using now are from Dangote refinery. The price of pms is still high. No competition in the deregulation of pms yet. Dangote still have the balls to increased the price of pms and cement. Cement is now #8,500 why pms is around #1020 to #1050 in all the filling stations.

It is not about quitting or staying, when NNPC buy their share from Dangote will they still subsidise the price thereby making it impossible for other marketers to thrive

The FG should consolidate this by completely banning importation of petroleum products. This, I think would further ease the pressure on our limited Dollar, and in return strengthen Naira.
Importation of this products and other producible indeginnous commodities should be banned.

Most middlemen are crooks, not just in NNPC but every other aspect.

Go to Agriculture sector and see what those middlemen are doing

Go to building/house rents and see what those middlemen (agents) are doing

Try to buy a car and see for yourself what those car agents aka middlemen are doing.

. I think it is better if there is no any sort of middlemen in this Dangote's refinery affairs

This is a great move by NNPC.
You are praising NNPC for reversing one of the many confusing wrongs that it has done in the past few years.

How can a private company also be a regulator of another private company, in which it owns a stake, yet it wants to play middleman to the other private company in which it is also a regulator and shareholder? Can you see the madness?

If you want to see how stupid corruption makes people, look no further than the NNPC and the Nigerian oil sector as a whole.

Any positive decision you may seem to see is not primarily for the interest of Nigerians, but rather for the interests of a few. When those few are ok, then they may think of Nigerians. Know this and know peace.

You cant read?

With NNPC no longer covering the differential between Dangote’s selling price and the price to marketers, subsidies will cease to exist. Marketers will now buy directly from Dangote and sell at cost price, adding their own differential, which may lead to a hike in the product’s price.

Re: NNPC Quits As Middleman In Dangote Refinery Petrol Purchase by Solidex(m): 11:23am On Oct 07, 2024
They should focus on revamping their own refineries rather than trying to make cheap gains from Dangote's products.
NNPC is a dubious organisation who doesn't mean well for Nigerians at all.
Their energy should be channeld to rehabilitation of those moribund refineries so that they could complete favourablly with Dangote's.
Secondly, I hope quilting as middleman doesn't mean they will go back to importation and indirectly continue to worsen the existing inflation and weak Niara.
The FG, should be regulatory in their function by making sure Dangote doesn't exploit Nigerians.

the problem is that at no point did dangote tell the nigerian public the price he was selling to NNPC.

NNPC announced a price and dangote was grumbling all through without actually saying what his price is.
