The FG should consolidate this by completely banning importation of petroleum products. This, I think would further ease the pressure on our limited Dollar, and in return strengthen Naira.
Importation of this products and other producible indeginnous commodities should be banned.
I agree with u but putting ban on importation of these products will give Dangote the change to increase price at will. Importation should continue, nobody should stop it except price/competition
If Dangote can sell at a lower price, important death will be natural and the marketers will be waiting for the time they can make profit by importing pet product with that Dangote will be cautious
Another thing is the quantity. Can Dangote current production meet local demand

This is a great move by NNPC.
Great what? It's obvious they had to bow to the inevitable. Useless corporation.

Unregulated marketers?
Pulling away on paper?
Re: NNPC Quits As Middleman In Dangote Refinery Petrol Purchase by yemre: 12:59pm On Oct 07, 2024
Hmmm....well, Nigerians! What we want exactly, I don't know. But I know one thing for sure. We have seen the steep rise in prices of all the other products that were not regulated. NNPC said they wanted to be the sole off-taker and people said they're not happy with that arrangement. Well, to me, NNPC buying off this product from Dangote is keeping Dangote in check in a way.

I just hope it will not become another Indomie noodles introduced into the market at N30 and today we know how much we're buying it.

I agree with you. Any attempt to burn importation is an invitation to galloping inflation. We don't want anybody so be the soul producer and join Monopoly. Else, we will wake up one day, sometime very soon, and start buying a liter of petrol for 3,500. At that point, you cannot do an emergency activation of soil importation.
Just my own opinion though.

The marketers would still be taxed heavily... who is fooling who??

Hope this will not lead to a further hike in the price of PMS?
What exactly do you guys want?

Federal Government/NNPC have left the petrol business for the Private sector.

You can negotiate directly with Dangote ,to sell petrol cheaper for you, nothing concern FG in it anymore.

So Nnpcl is tired already. Besides other oil marketers are buying from Dangote refinery already. All the petroleum we are using now are from Dangote refinery. The price of pms is still high. No competition in the deregulation of pms yet. Dangote still have the balls to increased the price of pms and cement. Cement is now #8,500 why pms is around #1020 to #1050 in all the filling stations.
The price of PMs is still high cos Nnpc are yet to fulfill there end of the agreement or creat an enabling ground for prices to fall

Despite these announcement, weeks later Nnpc will still lie to Nigerians they are paying subsidy
without prompt record of Dangote supplies what the probabliity dangote fuel will not be muddle up with the imported ones to claim subsidy payment by those thieves

NNPCL want all people to see that Dangote didn't mean well for the citizens

Both NNPCL and Dangote are criminals
Nigerians can NOT be satisfied.

The NNPC is no more involved in the marketing of petroleum products but you still want to be blaming NNPC.

Is it Ministry of Works that serve as Middle Men between Dangote Cement Pls and the Consumers?
Re: NNPC Quits As Middleman In Dangote Refinery Petrol Purchase by oyatz(m): 1:31pm On Oct 07, 2024
pacino26:
That’s a start. Now we need to know the exchange rate with which they supply crude to local refineries not just Dangote alone cuz someone like me is getting tired hearing only that name. The time for standardization is now, the template must be transparent to allow for more investment.
What we need is ,for more people to go into the Refinery business.

The Obidients Movement can even contribute money like they did during the election and build a small Refinery, in partnership with Gov Alex Otti at Aba, which can be selling petrol at #300/Litre.

It's not oh.

Others can't afford the current price as it will be over 1000 naira .
Protesters should march to Dangote Refinery and issue him an ultimatum to reduce the pump prices of his petrol or there would be trouble.

Trust Nigerians to abuse this again. They will simply buy cheap from Dangote and export it since with full deregulation customs doesn't have to stop fuel leaving the country anymore.

This could be exploited to cheat consumers.
The NNPC should let everyone know the price of the crude that it sells in naira to Dangote and the agreed ex-factory price that Dangote will be selling, and the markup for the marketers. Otherwise consumers will be cheated
absolutely correct 👍

NN Pee Shit should go and build its one refinery. I do not understand why a corrupt and incapable organization is reducing itself from Refinery owner to a trader.

This will show everyone that importation of fuel is hidden under top secret interest. Those criminals haijack Dangote just to empty their stock... Leaving the stage for Dangote to roast citizens alive...
