Wike has never been a senator and he would never be.
Even after Tinubu sacks him, he has lost the strategic leverage to win a senetorial election in Rivers state. He shot himself on the leg, and he is saving the last bullet for his head. His political career has ended in a tragic suicide.

Logically, the governor of the state should be the leader of the leading party in the state as he is the one in charge of the state affairs

There's no logic in it.
The State affairs is being run by the governor and that is his duty as a governor.
The Party Chairman is the Leader of the party and same run the affairs of the party.
It's high time we do the right thing. All this abnormalities is because we give respect and loyalty to money rather than institutions.

Unfortunately for him, The Rivers People of which I have spent decades in Rivers are on the side of Fubara because they are against anything godfatherism.... Maybe godfatherism works in some other states especially in South West but even Wike said it can't work in Rivers State..

So let's say you're right in your logic. Then PBAT who is the President and weilds power is the Leader of the APC. The APC not just at the national level but in all the States of the Federation where APC is the ruling party.
