I guess they have to say this, since it will make them look inefficient for another organisation to uncover the fraud in the banking sector they're supposed to be diligently supervising. What the CBN should be doing is to collaborate with anyone who has info on financial misconduct, instead of employing antagonistic strategies to make themselves look competent. |

Bullshit. CBN has been underperforming as a regulator, some financial institutions are taking advantage of this to shortchange customers. Overcharging for loans, debiting accounts for dubious reasons because the regulator is asleep. Go to any CBN office and try to make a complaint you will see that they are not interested in hearing your complaint. No functional means to make complaints online, no functional hotline to complain to. Banking regulation ended during Sanusi's time as CBN governor. |

datola:They don't need to tell us. It is very clear that it is about propaganda, misinformation and disinformation against GTCO or GT Bank. We know the people that can do this . On October 1st when WEMA Bank was doing anniversary celebration and giving out gifts. On nairaland, somebody said a Bank that had bad network since morning. I complained that why must they always complain about WEMA, FCMB, Sterling and GT Bank. Zenith Bank had no network that day and had been having issues but no information or complaints on Social Media. Few minutes later, nairaland frontpage posted message about Zenith Bank message about maintenance. Up till now, a lot has happened in Zenith Bank. We are forced to transfer funds only from Zenith Bank to Zenith Bank. Some of us transferred money to 3rd party with Zenith Bank acting as proxy to the real owner of funds but without Zenith Bank account. For the real owner to collect the fund in full now becomes problem. Despite crisis at the Banking Hall of Zenith Bank for several days, no crisis or complaints or misinformation or disinformation on Social Media. I do tell people in all the Zenith Bank branches I have visited that if it has happened in GT Bank those people would have brought down Social Media with propaganda against GT Bank but now they kept quiet because it is Zenith. |

AngelicBeing:That is your propaganda. That is why you are a Social Media miscreant. During the infamous cashless and naira redesign era before the Presidential election, on Social Media and particularly Nairaland, there were useless propaganda against FCMB, Sterling Bank and GT Bank about violation. I asked the questions why must the violation propaganda be against FCMB, Sterling and GT Bank? Emefiele didn't see any Bank? The greatest crisis in the Banking Sector have been the upgrade in Zenith Bank that caused hardship for almost 7 days with many casualties, yet, nothing heard or no information on Social Media because the victim mentality people are ready to defend them. |

You can't get more than N5m in compensation in the event that any bank collapses in Nigeria no matter the amount of money you had in your account. |

CBN have said nothing in their press briefing. Very weighty allegations have been made against GTBank that required thorough investigation and sanctioning. The CBN have neither denied the allegations levelled against GTB not have they defended GTB. CBN is merely trying to calm nerves and save GTBank from customer mass withdrawal of funds. Everyone knows GTBank and their fraudulent financial activities. I strongly believe the allegations, and most of the allegations are verifiable. Did countries where GTBANK are doing businesses penalize GTBANK for irregular and sharp banking practices? Yes. Was GTBank penalized in Nigeria for same offenses severally? NO |
