What happened over the past week in Rivers is a very good argument for why SIEC should remain independent of INEC. It also serves as a good reason why the State Police force should be preferred over a National one. However, a lot needs to be done to reduce the influence of elected officers on all these agencies. undecided

Zombies will be speechless
They were claiming Fibara did it to implicate wike
Now better implication is on the horizon cause I'm sure this move is not for nothing

Your post displays crass stupidity and hypocrisy.

SIEC should remain independent of INEC, meanwhile it's very clear that SIEC acts on the orders of the governor and often writes results of LG elections to please the governor. The governor even boasted that he's the owner of SIEC property.

Would you be happy if Tinubu in 2027 decide to run INEC the way state governors are running their own SIEC?

State governors are not more than incompetent buffoons in Nigeria. Show me 5 states in Nigeria where Nigerians have benefitted from their state governors. They sit their corrupt lazy ass in air-conditioned offices and gobble down state monthly allocation while looking on to the fg to solve every damn problem in the country. Is it those same incompetent wicked and corrupt fools you want to give control of police to? Have you ever thought about what would happen if you give a madman a gun? Be careful what you wish for man.
And INEC don't act on president orders

What is the difference between what happened in Edo and Rivers? INEC needs to be disbanded and let us outsource the job to professional consultants at cheaper rate and good results

Would you celebrate if Tinubu decides to use INEC in 2027 the same way state governors are using SIEC to write LG elections results?

Only an idiot would think Edo people didn't vote against Obaseki's PDP due to the incompetence of Obaseki as a governor.

In your myopic mind, Edo people should reward PDP after their miserable performance because of the sins committed by Tinubu. Go and check yourself if you are okay

Nigerians can't manage anything properly and they despise those who can. I say it again, state police is a tragedy waiting to happen. They are not even police yet but see what vigilantes are doing in states.

Tinubu has been using it before. So don't crucify the governors. Why would I cry foul when I know Nigeria is gone.

Be that as it may, the State Police makes sense since the Federal Police we have can withdraw itself whenever it pleases. So, states should have some backup security agencies to which they can turn. Imagine finding yourself in a state only to hear that the IG of the police has withdrawn all of its police officers from the state. Wouldn't you at least be happy if the state police were available to handle emergencies while they are gone? undecided

It should be properly managed so the loss does not outweigh the gain.
