BREAKING: Dozens Killed, Others Injured as Soldiers Clash with Gunmen in Imo | #Politicsnigeria

A violent clash between soldiers and armed gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has left many dead and injured.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the shootout took place late last night.

The fight took place in the Aba branch area, with sources confirming that several soldiers were attacked and killed by the armed group.

A witness told The Nation that the situation quickly spiraled out of control, turning the entire area into a battlefield.

“Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” one source explained. “The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities”

Residents, fearing for their lives, fled their homes as the sounds of heavy gunfire filled the night. Some families left in haste, unsure if or when they could return to their homes. “We are terrified,” said one resident, who asked not to be named. “The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next.We are worried, Ehime used to be a serene environment, we dont know what is happening.”

There has been no official statement yet from either the police or military authorities, as of press time.

Imo is not the only state in the east. So IPOB can not be only active in Imo state. I beleve that the jailbreak of April 2021,was a deliberate ploy by the authorities to flood the whole place with violent characters, in other to tarnish the image of groups like IPOB.

Why must you associate every clash some armed men have with security agencies in the south east with Biafra agitation?

Some years ago, it used to be an armed robbery attack. The news then used to be that armed robbers attacked security agents. But now, any armed attack in the southeast is associated with Biafra agitation.

Imo State was a beautiful and a peaceful place until the Supreme Court governor came to power.

Bros, my mentality is that the fight for Biafra is just as long as institutionalised marginalization is in progress! If you don't like that, then do something about the marginalization of the south-east that has been engrained into the political psyche of the average federal politician. Stop wailing and moaning about the net consequences of marginalization, while you continuously vote in those whose only job in government is to instigate bad policies that alienate different regions and groups.

I have had a sibling kidnapped there and he has seen these boys first hand. Slept in their dungeon and paid ransome. So i should have an idea. Most are criminals. Hardened criminals that emerged post Owerri jailbreak. The governor of Imo State has said this many times that the killings and violence have little to do with Biafra. A former Imo state police commissioner also said so. But it is you that knows the truth more than them.

IPOB brought this anarchy and chaos into once the most peaceful state in southeast and Nigeria and turn it into death,torture,rape and kidnapping capital.Some us raised alarm when Nnamdi Kanu launched his private army called Eastern Security Network they turned out to be Eastern Insecurity Network.
Villages have been taken over by this criminal elements known as UmuOma and many people can nolonger visit their home town as a result of this.Nnamdi Kanu gave a standing order to kill soldiers in SE and that is what they have been doing ever since.

That jail break was praised by Nnamdi Kanu and he said and I quote '[b]if bokoharam suspects are being released from prison no criminal deserves to be in prison in Igboland'[/b]and as a result of that action is what we are seeing today.
