Salvador1:If election is tomorrow, the zombies with INEC will still rig him in. But we cannot continue to fold our arms and watch them destroy the country! We should not! Then they’ll become beggars and agberos, constituting nuisance to the lives of others that didn’t contribute to their mad choice. |

1x2x3:Ok, so the masses remove the government and put in a people's government that would cut prices of petrol to 100 per liter. Then everyone is happy and a large party is thrown where tons of star lager and orijin and Guinness are consumed, along with lots of coke , Pepsi, kunu and zobo. When we wake up, the economists will tell us that to keep fuel at 100 per liter, government would have to fork over 18 trillion naira annually, subject to increases. So the government forks over th money, but now the people at Budget are saying that expenditure for this year is less than one trillion with a lot of money gone on debt service. Five months later, fuel is 3000 naira or more. So much for the revolution. |

So nobody can stop this madness.. Is like a rich father sending his 10 children out to go and fend for themselves without any meaningful support, saying “ if you make it, fine, if you don’t make it, sorry. That is a heartless act. Even drugs to treat illnesses has gone beyond the reach of the masses and government doesn’t care Isn’t this madness |

nairalanda1:Well, the government can also pay a living wage to cushion the inflation caused by the high fuel prices |

tnerro1:Good until the problem of funding for the decent wage comes in. Look, I don't like this apc 70000 nonsense, but if we had gone with 630000 minimum wage, the wage bill would have meant mass printing of money. Inflation loading. That's why I always say here that this apc government is useless because they are running an economy and government based on oil revenue, which cannot make enough cash for our too large population. Their corruption and looting makes things worse. But they won't change . Annoying |

Since Nigerians are not doing anything, Tinubu will continue to test the waters. . Mind you, taxing is being continuously increased on many mediums. . Driver's licence fee was increased today too. . |

DeLaRue:You're not making sense oga Ade. If atal nnpc is more the sole offtaker like you said, tell me wat could cause the new increment, since nnpc is buying from the local market and in naira, that means no landing cost, shipping fees and dollars exchange rate again on petrol. So why the increment again. I'm just surprised we still hv morons that still support this useless entity called nnpc. They hv been useless since 1999. No single refinery they can fix. Shame on u and nnpc |

nairalanda1:Agbadiot Tell us if Tinubu has stopped borrowing Tell us if Tinubu has started industrialising Nigeria. If so, tell us how many new industries he has brought to Nigeria vis-a-vis the ones that left. Tell us if Tinubu is fighting corruption or he is even practicing it more. Some of you are born to be slaves of politicians. |

Okoroawusa:Yeah! This is the only way for Nigeria to move forward. Those complaining here like making silly comments about the country. Now a man has come to say the country must be great, gbajues are crying with eyes wide open! Just a profit margin of N20 on PMS as road tax can rehabilitate all the roads in this country. They want the country to be like those in Europe but they don't want to do what it takes to make it. |

The price either has to increase or the product becomes scarcer as long as subsidies exist. There are no two ways about it. |

They will continue to increase it, since when people come out to protest, they can also give some mugus 5k to do anti protest. Problem solved. It's so easy for them now... Anti protest and using security men .... APC perfect tactics |

Gerrard59:in reality? Not exactly. I already addressed this point you touched on, in my earlier thread below. https://www.nairaland.com/8017949/how-nigeria-people-govt-got Thanks to the accursed govt's decision to turn the naira to tissue paper, the days of having unfettered access to pms without queues are gone for the foreseeable future. It simply ain't gonna happen anytime soon. So increasing fuel price like you opined in your post, isn't going to guarantee availablity, rather it will do the opposite. Only the big players, majorly NNPC and Bovas will be able to continue fuel retail business due to the cost of the product, and even they will not be able to do so consistently everyday as used to be the case before this demon came in. A full tanker of pms will now cost above 50m naira, so ten stations would be half a billion, get the picture? Most NNPC stations are franchises, so not all NNPC stations have the capacity to buy and sell, as we can see today. So with very few players, you can expect the queues not to disappear anytime soon, cos Nigerians are passionate sufferers, they will still buy the fuel, at whatever cost, but it won't be readily available cos the cost of the product will ensure that it is not constantly available at many locations. Our new reality is the fuel will be expensive, and only few will be dispensing the product, so you will still queue to buy the product, however expensive. |
