Israel has been retaliating since. They have retaliated so much and people have cried so much that there is no more tears, only hatred. As long as Israel continues its violent ways it will also be a target and this is the beginning. Israeli civilians should overthrow their government and push for negotiations. If not, they will be seen as enablers and accomplices.

Killing women and children is defending Israel abi. You all forget the Palestinian violence didn't just exist on its own. It is a response to decades of continuous oppression against them. They are helpless against a bully that is 10 times more powerful than them, is not satisfied with taking their land but continues to punish every protest in the most brutal manner. One day, the tide may turn and Israeli supporters will start crying that Arabs are monsters. BTW, I am a Christian but I don't support oppression.
