Indeed she has. She has sent an email to the US embassy in Lagos explaining the entire situation. I will keep the forum updated on how this plays out.

Hopefully it will be a learning experience for others cos this mistake could have been avoided if she had known better.

But does this relative here still need to submit bank statement as POF? He runs a family business and is a co-signatory to the account(not a salary job)
2. Wat stronger ties can he go along with aside from Land document to show that he’s not gonna overstay?
3. Does he need to go wit medical fitness result? Police character ?
4. Is it expedient to book a round trip flight ahead of the interview date to show you have no plans to overstay?

I’ll like to read responses pls

It doesn't. She sent her passport alongn with her new I-20 and other required documentation, to Nigeria through a friend that was going for vacation.

I just confirmed from her, she answered "Yes" to the Question of being "physically present in Nigeria" after contacting the guy in the video who told her he also answered Yes when the question prompt came up. That's actually misrepresentation, so I'm starting to see the illegitimacy of this whole process.

That youtube video should be taken down to avoid misleading others. I'll tell her to reach out to the youtuber who posted the video.

Yes I have picked up my passport from OIS Abuja and I didn't receive a mail from them. I submitted on 13th of September and after 10 days, I tracked the visa status on the CEAC website and it was issued. I tried scheduling the pickup appointment on the OIS website but it kept saying my passport is not ready for pickup. after 2 days, I tried again (OIS website) and it said my passport is ready for pickup. I scheduled a pickup date and took a screen shot of the date cos I used my phone. surprisingly, I logged into the OIS website with my laptop later same day so I could print the pickup slip directly from the site rather than use the screenshot, but the message I kept on getting was your passport is not ready for pickup. I kept on trying for more than 2 days but got the same massage. on the day of my pickup appointment, I showed them the screenshot of the 1st message I got saying my passport is ready for pickup. the staff at OIS Abuja checked and my passport was there. so I picked up mine and my mom's own free of charge (I had a proxy letter for hers)

Hello, my mum’s visa has been issued but I am a bit confused about the pickup.

I saw from here that I need to register on OIS and I have done that. I got a message on the page when I tried to book an appointment for collection that the passport is ready so I picked premium delivery at DHL Ibadan and chose an appointment time for today but I haven’t got any notification about payment and since selecting DHL, it now says that passport is not yet ready for pick up and the tracking number that was generated has not been working as it says invalid.

I am not sure what to do now as the appointment is today and the passport is not yet ready and I have also not been asked to pay. Can anyone please help with next steps?

Thank you so much. I submitted on the 2nd of October and I am trying to track it but it keeps saying my search did not return any data. I am wondering if it was actually submitted to the embassy or not. Tried calling the embassy but no response.

I think there is an OIS system glitch or product design flaw

Once you've searched for a passport number and booked a passport collection appointment, if you later try to search again for the same passport number, it will tell you the passport is not available. Happened to me when I checked for my mum's passport and booked an appointment for her today.

Track with this site and if it shows the visa as issued (https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx) - try going to the OIS/DHL location where you booked a passport collection appointment - it may likely be there - just have a copy of the passport collection appointment from the OIS website. PS: I didn't need or see any tracking number on her AVITS profile. To book a collection appointment, follow this path: oiservices.com>book appointment>select US Visa>pick up service>

I paid for my MRV a week ago via card and its still on "pending application".
I raised a ticket since then and the status is showing as "on hold".
Someone else that i know, hers says "in progress" or "resolved". But mine saying "on hold" sounds like its suspended or am i overthinking it.

Has anyone else experienced this please. Thank you.

Before then I had done a chat with that chat icon by the right end and followed the prompt and told them i had previously paid mrv fees.

I didn't pay any new money on the new site.

mehn i got a mail from them last night around 7pm saying i should come for interview today 11th October by 10am.

interview done and was successful.

* You are a smart son, for having kept the Aug appt letter and the rescheduled email.

1. Naturally, if you log in to AVITS , print out the new (blank) appointment letter , combine it with the old appointment and the rescheduled email, then Mama should be fine to attend her interview come November 15th.

2. But before that, use all the printouts as suggested in sense - 1 above to open a support ticket (complain message) inside Mama's AVITS profile , and call the held-desk verbally. Perhaps, they may ask you to reprint a clearer appointment letter .

PS: Momsy's IW was converted to physical interview for personal questioning. They want to know if she has not being doing some au pair, if she is still fit physically for travel, or perhaps she overstayed in her previous travel.

1. For your hubby, always log out and login or restart your phone, laptop, or browser in order to refresh AVITS page which is presently susceptible to hanging or frozen. When you do this, it's very possible that your desired date will be clickable. You just have to keep trying.

2. For your IW, You have to sign up, choose country and location (Lagos/Abuja), chose payment method, pay (within 3 days ) VISA fee with the method chosen, and wait for payment confirmation. You will encounter IW questionnaire naturally if you follow this process.

3. Once your payment is confirmed, your user account will display the calendar with available appointments (dates) , or the Interview Waiver ( IW ) confirmation. You will only need to click on Pending Appointment Request on your dashboard in order to continue.

4. After receiving the IW qualification letter , and your successful appointment booking on AVITS, then your next step is to visit OIS

in order to schedule the 2nd round IW Drop off/Pick up appointment. You will need your AVITS booking information to do this, but it's going to be understandable. Focus on AVITS first.

Hello everyone, please help.
I scheduled an appointment using a DS-160 that I had not completed nor retrieved the confirmation page. I tried to retrieve my DS-160 form to no avail and reached out to support. They did not understand the situation and simply told me to fill another DS-160 and take the old confirmation page (which I do not have). They assumed that I just needed to update a few details from the old one.
Hence, I cancelled my appointment (to avoid being turned back at the embassy) and I have been trying to pay a new MRV fee to book another one, this time with a duly completed DS-160 and confirmation page obtained. However, I have been coming across the issue of "duplicate account found for this user" indicating that they still recognize my passport details and won't allow me create a new appointment request.
I have reached out and they keep stating that the issue has been escalated.
Please what can I do as it is a very urgent situation.
