How much is minimum wage? N70k.
In other words, poverty, ba mi Allah and servitude have been institutionalised in Nigeria by the ruling government and Dangote refinery.

Do you remember how the urch.ns began this year screaming that Dangote Refinery was coming to drop the price of fuel.

They even made it sound like Dangote Refinery was a product of APC govt.

But for over a month now, they have switched sides to telling us that Nigerians cannot have cheap fuel.

This happened because they could no longer deny the obvious, that Dangote is not a charity organisation but a consummate capitalist

Beware of APC ur..ins.

They are poisonous snakes

Actually, he made sense and you said sh!t instead. What is the competitive dollar price of Petro in West Africa? Dangote's price in naira is in reference to the index dollar price. Hence, regardless of how useless naira is, you cannot smuggle because by the time you convert to the neighbouring country's currency, it will still be their own reference to the same index dollar price. The only exception is if Dangote is referencing an index dollar price (a global mkt price) that is cheaper than the dollar price being referenced in the neighbouring country.

You need to start thinking optimally

No reasonable person will have confidence in this government in mitigating the risks based on the irresponsible way Tinubu as minister of petroleum handled the fuel subsidy remov
al process.... Where is the fund saved from subsidy removal?

The economic crisis Nigeria is going through could've been averted if NNPC had kept to it's word of reviving Nigeria's national refineries over the years.... Dangote till now has refused to make public his refinery's pricing input in the new petrol cost price of N898 per litre published by NNPCL.... I will once again reiterate that allowing "market forces" to dictate fuel price in a fragile economy with a population that is characterized majorly of poor people with low purchasing power, high food prices, high transportation fees and a monopolistic oil refining market with Dangote Refinery as a major player is a recipe for disaster. What this means is that fuel price can increase to N5000 per litre at anytime with no measures put in place to cushion it's effects on the economy.

Nigeria's fragile economy can not withstand these spikes in energy costs, it cannot continue to absorb the incessant increases in fuel price due to "market forces" without a resultant increase in unemployment as more businesses shutdown, prices of food continue to rise and insecurity spreads. If Tinubu cares about Nigerians which I doubt, the government needs to go back to the drawing board and reinstate a temporary subsidy program that will address this volatility in the price of fuel with the government stabilizing "market forces" price differentials through subsidy until PH refinery comes on board by December....

Nigerians need to take responsibility for the sorry state of the economy and massively protest the anti-people policies implemented by this callous government. If Tinubu and his government can not provide solutions to the incessant fuel price increases and the terrible state of Nigeria's economy, let him resign or be impeached to save the nation from impending doom.....

I know that government could have made the price cheaper through pegging an exchange rate for sale to local refineries or selling crude cheaper locally. But they wouldn’t do it because they want to stop smuggling of refined petrol to neighbouring countries. There is no way petrol will be smuggled at 1200/litre to neighbouring countries. It is just not profitable. But government must do something quickly before they cause class suicide due to hunger and poverty. They must not also underrate the propensity to cause social unrest and revolution. They must do something quickly to reduce the pain on the people.
More money for smugglers if they sell in CFA, remember naira is down, so selling in CFA gives them more profit...

So what you are implying is that because the government has failed woefully in securing our borders, it is justified for Nigerians to now buy fuel at an exorbitant price so as to discourage people from smuggling it to our neighbouring countries.

Honestly, I don't know the planet you emerged from with this wacked reasoning.

Dangote is a back stabber, a betrayal of the masses for agreeing & conniving with the government to sell above his cost of production... You can't tell me that at this close price to imported fuel is what it cost him even without landing costs and other logistics. Definitely all the noises he was making on not getting local crude supplies were not sincere and selfish. He's part of the cabal from time but wanting to use his (refinery monopoly) make it more (money) among others.

How do you know smuggling petrol is not profitable?
Have you compared Nigeria and neighbouring countries' petrol prices?

Cement despite not being subsidized is smuggled heavily into neighbouring countries.

Stop believing the government's word without evidence.
There is more to smuggling than just subsidy.

Lol. Still affordable. Independent marketers should adjust their prices to N1,500

Nigerians can still afford to pay 5k for a litre of fuel which Tinubu is being considerate and compassionate on the suffering masses grin

Yoruba people must stand on this mandate till 2031
Why are you always mentioning the tribe of your masters?

Your life is zero without the Yorubas.

You're right. The price of petrol is being fully deregulated.

The government is itching to go further but it's being very cautious

I totally disagree. So because a student can't read and write, does that mean the whole class shouldn't write exams?
Your explanation is extremely flawed and out-of-touch. Why should we suffer for the inadequacies of a ludacrious government? Why should an average Nigerian buy fuel at 1,200?
If importing fuel is costing us 600 naira. Why would we buying fuel at 1,200 even after building a refinery?

Average selling price in Nigeria's neighbours is between N1,700 and N2,000. Price is not the check here.

The only check here is that all tankers must have trackers installed on them to ensure they do not leave approved routes and that they must have adequate documentation.
