T pain SSA on Employment matters

depends on you really. The two banks are old generation so job security is high. I know FirstBank has just increased pay this October so their entry level will be pushing towards 8m and with the new chairman being Otedola promotions will be fast eventhough targets may be stiff. For UBA you will almost always end up in marketing if you are in the south but their pay too is decent.

So I got to the medical stage of both the UBA and First Bank 2024 graduate Trainee, and am confused on which to go with.

It’s has proven to be a difficult decision at the moment.

I would appreciate any advice from experienced bankers or people who have experienced any or both banks.

Help this little one make a decision.

UBA sacks staff at will, and you are likely to spend long years without promotion, which is frustrating.

marketing is the easiest task. When you get there you'll nail it. Scaling the training school shows you can perform excellently in any area you find yourself. Congrats.

First bank too is not small. My mind say make you choose first bank.

UBA is better, but for lack of ambition, FBN is good. Give your neighbours one letter, after your choice.

Go for FirstBank...I know the 2 banks like the back of my hand....There is no basis for comparison at all at all.....Go for FirstBank.

UBA will never match FirstBank in terms of pay, but beyond pay, your career is 10 times better in FBN than UBA.

I can recall my job hunting days when UBA posted me to one of their branches as a cash officer, but revoked the appointment because in Nigeria, anything goes. Lol...

Trust me, marketing is the easiest part. If you want to reach the peak of your career as a banker, marketing is your best bet.

I didn't know old generation banks pay their entry level staff high salaries. It means a top manager can earn close to 5million monthly.

Firstbank.

I worked with the bank for over 6 years, job security is high in Firstbank but don't commit fraud oo.

Depending on the roles you are been offered, I advise you go for FBN, and of course, make sure everything (documents) you submitted are co3rrect. FBN would investigate everything from A to Z, if found wanting, you won't be confirmed as a full staff. Again, in all you do, make sure you get posted to the HQs, FBN pay is very good also and subject to review always.
I don't know much about UBa in recent times, they used to be on frustrating bank

I have worked in both banks as a permanent staff and I will advise that you conclude and receive your posting letter before you decide. FirstBank can be very brutal with posting of staff. They can take you anywhere. Watch and pray too.

Youa re very correct. That was what I wanted to add to my comment earlier too.

FBN can easily post you to anywhere, especially your state of origin. If you are fine with that, then go ahead.

ler her choose firstbank, they pay better. Job security, allowances, bonus. Salary increment. It's worth it. People are leaving uba to Firstbank.

At this moment, the pay is not really the ish. Nigerians are natural survivors.

I want where I can grow career wise. Next 5 years, I would say I have achieved something with my life.

Am looking for a place that treats their staffs with kindness in as much as banking is not easy, it’s shouldn’t be my deathtrap.

And for the record guys, it’s a SHE😀
