Good evening, Nairaland. Please, I need your expertise on an issue I am having.

I am set to travel to Nigeria in November for a week (something very important), My passport validity is going to be 4 months by the time I plan on returning. Given that canada has a 6 months validity on passport. But my work permit is set to expire next year, so i still have a valid visa. The problem is with the passport. How do I go about this?

1. If I decide to do passport renewal in Nigeria. Will my new passport be linked to the old one? Also, would my visa validity in the old one still stand.

2. For the passport, I plan on also doing a name change. Would that still affect my visa and old passport?

3. I already booked my flight before realizing the whole walaha. Will the airline allow me use my return ticket with a change of name on my passport?

4. Some people said that since I have a valid work permit till next year March, that it doesn't matter. I can still enter Canada with less than 6 months passport validity. How true is this please??

I decided to go check him at his house to discuss one-on-one, only to find out from the landlord that he moved out last month, as the police were looking for him due to money and passports he collected from different people. When I called him and told him I was at his house, he immediately hung up, and his phone has been switched off since.

My sister applied for a student visa, her letter of acceptance says her course is for two years, but the IRCC gave her a visa valid from now till the 30th of March 2025(five months). I know the study permit upon entry is what that matters, but has anyone gotten a five months visa before?

What’s the validity of her passport?
Also, the study permit document obtained at the border takes precedence over this vignette anyway.

Thanks. Her passport is valid for 9 more years. I know the study permit is issued based on the length of her study, it just doesn’t make sense that they’d issue a five months visa. That means she’d have to do another in-country application for her to be able to travel outside Canada.

She'll get stamped at the Canadian border , that permit is the one that takes precedence.

Please, it easy process when she's already in Canada and plans to travel internationally, she can apply for a new Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) from within Canada through the IRCC website. This is a common process, especially for students who stay longer than their initial visa duration!

Which bank card are you trying to use? Seems it's GTB dollar card that works. Access Bank USD card didn't work for me!

The agent, but then the agent is somebody I know personally, but human beings can be funny sometimes. He has been telling me that it’s Canada that is yet to grand the approval letter

Your passport is with the agent because it impossible you did biometric 9th of May and submitted passport to Canada visa centre on the 14th of May via your agent as you stated earlier .

Ask your agent for your passport it 1000% with the agent!!

Also, is it a must to submit previous passport as I can't find my old passport but present passport has stamps of countries I've been to n out of. Please help to answer the question, it's for a single person. Thanks in advance

Yes you can then u can also address that with a letter and prove of how much time you have invested in the business and and financial investments too to the enterprise. And time and guardian roles too and emotional and support

Thanks so much for this, I appreciate your time and effort, but I'm yet to get answer to this, is it a must to submit previous passport as I can't find my old passport but my present passport has stamps of countries I've been to n out of. Also is it necessary to attach wedding pictures even if not asked for. The person also said that he doesn't have any landed property to use as home ties but he has rent agreement, does he stand a chance. Sorry for the stress but thanks in advance.

Not the best time to apply for Canada visa,people should try US visa ,if US grant you make one trip and come back then apply for Canada that's 100 percent guaranteed
