There is so much corruption and injustice in the system, from recruitment to the actual work itself. Young people want to live and not die for peanuts. A young family friend died in Gombe, the boy was sick but travelled home, he didn’t recover well because he had to go resume duty. Despite knowing his situation it was duty upon duty. It’s a wicked system.

Simple, incorporate IT into the army. Take Israel for example, one lanky 21 year old can do damage equivalent to 10 battalion using the power of sophisticated technology. Millitary warfare is changing swiftly across the globe, with analyst predicting that wars will be fought just by a push of a button. Not everytime mass recruitment. Sometimes elites unit should be advertised. There is the counterterrorism unit, spy unit etc. The Nigerian millitary should be rebranded to make it appealing to youngsters else it risk being overwhelmed or possibly overun. With an insurgency that has held the country for about 26 years, with no clear victory insight. Anyone enlisting for the army currently will likely be used as a sacrificial lamb.

In military, if you are recruited as private which is olevel as a starter, you can never get to rank of 1 ⭐ for good 35 years in service, then NDA is only mearnt for rich people,

Imagine do all those useless harsh training with enough beating only to be kill by 1 bullet by boko boys who didn't go through all those useless training .

I have witnessed UK training with some other countries! You won't see them using woods to beat soldiers or giving them harsh punishment! No!

Now the world is incorporating a new units called drone operation unit! But Nigeria army are busy in the bush shouting TOTO COME OH, TOTO MUCH COME!

Muslim North doesn't care. They love the military because they cannot compete elsewhere. So, leave the noncommissioned military jobs for them while the South takes up all the slots in their states for the commissioned roles.

Big Lie,These people don't know jack about the situation on ground,the military are not recruiting enough simple.Its very difficult to enter the officer cadre of the military especially navy and air force.The recruitment slots are very limited then there is age cap also.This people just dont know whats going on.

When you are talking about recruitment you will see less people applying hence they have to do it 3 to 4 times in a year!

Tru when you go to other countries you will see how they train thier minatry but in Nigeria they will frug hell out of you, tell you to swim inside the gota, some people end up dieing .

Military and IT is inseparable.
In Nigeria, military+sambisa=Death ☠️. And no one wants his or her children dead at young age.

The number of Yahoo boys in Delta State alone ,, if gathered together and given machetes and sticks each are more than enough to defeat the Ghanian Army in combat

So the government want me to leave a job that pays almost 600k for doing almost nothing for a job that pays less than 70k and chances of me dying in less than 2 years is like 72%

Nobody joins the military voluntarily during war time (ask Russia & USA). You recruit millions and put them on reserve during peace time then use the reservist when there is need. But d ngr military took advantage of millions of unemployed youths by raking in billions thru scratch card & still dulling them.

Why must you blame the innocent IT jobs or so called harsh training ? For most of us from the southern part of the country, the sad reality of getting into the military is solely based on nepotism and bigotry favoring our northern Muslim brothers coupled with the sad stories of our elders who went before us. It was only during Obj's tenure that it became a bit more open but still it's man know man. If you don't know anybody then don't even bother applying. The last regime didn't help, I don't know about today but I'll advise any young fellow interested in joining the army to look for something better to do with his or her life. Look at Ruth Ogunleye and count your teeth

That is the best way to train a military man. They build their endurance level. When they are caught by enemies, they can withstand any pressure given.
