Yoruba Nation advocate Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has submitted a petition to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, calling for consideration of the Yoruba secessionist movement in Nigeria, News360 Nigeria reports. Although the petition's content remains confidential, it reportedly focuses on the Yoruba Nation's ongoing agitation for an independent state. The petition, which was submitted on behalf of Professor Adebanji Akintoye, the leader of the Yoruba Nation movement, marks a significant step in seeking international support for the secession. Several dignitaries accompanied Igboho during the submission, including Prophet Ologunoluwa, the Diaspora Youth Leader, and other key figures in the movement. The Yoruba Nation group is appealing for the UK's intervention in their quest to establish a nation predominantly made up of indigenous Yoruba people. This move follows previous accusations by Akintoye, who claimed the Nigerian government tried to convince Igboho to abandon the movement by offering financial incentives during his detention in Benin Republic, which Igboho reportedly refused. The petition to the UK Prime Minister underscores the group's persistence in pursuing international support for their cause. He said, “He has been released completely. He has won the hearts of the people here for his strength of character. They brought money to this young man; how many of our young men will do that? “Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, came to him in the prison, promising him billions of naira if he would just sign a paper that Buratai brought. “That he (Igboho) should say he had renounced the Yoruba Nation struggle, that he didn’t want the Yoruba Nation struggle anymore, that he had opted out of it." https://news360ng.com/sunday-igboho-submits-petition-to-uk-prime-minister-on-yoruba-nation-agitation/

The UK that's the root cause of the mess we're in and reaping the benefits of this rot and sham called One Nigeria can't grane anyone exit out of this contraption. It's just like expecting the looting machines in power to enact laws that will empower and enrich the common man. If you get enriched, how will they manipulate you? If you get empowered, how will they manipulate you? How can they weaponize hunger against you when you aren't hungry? How can you worship them when you aren't starving? Na person wey sick dey visit hospital. |

illicit:That's what you want the security guy to do but that's not what he will do. Their hearts are not as wicked as you people from Nigeria especially from a section of the country. Igboho will watch him deliver the documents and will also receive a response from them. Whether Positive or not, it remains to be seen |

illicit:trust me, the prime minister will definitely get and read that letter. You seem to forget that the only reason Nigeria remains one today was a phone call by the British ambassador to the northern counter coupists in 1966 to seriously reconsider their original plans of secession and rather hold the country together. WHY ? You may ask, that little thing called the Atlantic ocean which the North to their chagrin doesn't have anywhere in it's backyard. The dynamics have changed today and the Brits especially would like to see what Oduduwa goons have to offer for western support for this suicide mission. Once upon a time, they might have chased Igboho and co away with kobokos but the scare of GEJ and an economically sound behemoth called Nigeria outrightly rejecting the Europe - West Africa Trade Agreement at the tail end of his administration has taught them a lesson (it was amongst the first few agreements Buhari signed quietly). It's better for this nigga to be cut to pieces (a thousand). This is exactly what that megalomaniac oaf Nnamdi Kanu should have done and sat back in Europe instead of junketing around looking Mombasa oloshos and get caught like a frog meant for a secondary school science practical. My problem with the West is that they're never satisfied with the five or twenty percent you're willing to give for their support. They'll rather cause carnage, arm everyoneo kill themselves then tell you guys to share 2% while they cart off the remaining 98% . Expect other secessionist groups to start trooping to the UK very soon to present their own letters and also expect our northern brethren to aggressively kick against this pilgrimage just like they've been kicking against any whisper of regionalism. Ps: A United and well run regional government in Nigeria is my personal option, it is very possible and can happen with the right leadership. |
