Imagine collecting 15% to collect stamp duty that the banks can manage with inbuilt softwares. Some people are cashing out terribly in this country. Unfortunately all the government officials need is their cut. We are not yet serious in this country. Because why do you need a company to collect stamp duty for money paid into a bank, something a simple line of code will do. It is akin to banks hiring a private company for transfer charges collection |

jedisco:If they played no role I they won't be demanding for their money. If there was no contract the company won't take the CBN to court and win the case. These so many questions you said you have you think they were not asked in court before the judge ruled in their favor.... ![]() |

This case is not as straightforward as it may seem. The question is does NIPOST have the constitutionally right to collect stamp duties. If the answer is no, then the NIPOST contract with the company to collect stamp duties is null and void. |

ALTERNATEID:What should be asking is what the contract stipulates? Actually, the percentage of their commission is high, that wouldn't be more than 5k for every 50 naira collected. |

NothingDoMe:If possible tinubu will bring his private firm to help develop a system in revenue and tax collection whereby they took particular percentage from aggregate revenue. If he did it in his time as governor acquiring a firm while in office which is against federal Republic of Nigeria constitution which was a clear impeachable offence, he will be tempted to do same as a president. You know where there is money that's where he's interest is, just like him being our petroleum minister and his bunch of his family oil companies |

nedekid:How can they allow a private firm15% collection fees contract for money that is automatically deducted by software. There is not a single work in doing this collection. The money will climb to 1Trillion naira soon. The company probably belong to someone in presidency. |

nedekid:It's sad that 15% of the N50 stamp duty is going to an agency for doing little or relatively nothing. Even Remitta's commission was reduced from 1% to 0.5% by the last government. Corruption is an evil wind that's destroying the Nation. |
