In addition to the whole issue on the new appointment website, there is no way to update your profile with a new ds-160 application ID. I am beginning to question if this new website was tested before launching.

That is thesame problem I have plus the fact that Avits cancelled me and my wife's interview appointment for next month. A colleague of mine has thesame challenge and his own appointment is on Friday this week. Am hoping he's sorted out at the embassy, as this will give me great hope.

Good evening everyone, please the situation explained below is about my very close friend. Please read and help us with solution.
On her international passport, there was a mistake on her surname and because she couldn't get documents to correct it then due to time, her agent advised her to apply with the passport for US tourist visa in year 2015, claiming that's her surname and the agent further advised that he has someone then who also want to apply for US visa but not financially buoyant, if the two can merge as couple and apply together since one application fee will be paid for both of them, it will be fine. So he did marriage certificate which says they're married, the visa was refused and reason not known till date after interview. Now, my friend want to apply for study in the US, but with the history she had years back, how will she do the the thing without implications from the surname used then for application and marriage certificate used then. Though she's legally married now with her husband surname on her passport. Will she say the surname she used then was a mistake or what or she'll do which affidavit, And did she need to do divorce documents that she's no longer married to that person she was attached to then. Thanks in advance. Please help me help her.

I made my application payment 14th of last month on the Avits portal and was informed to wait two working days for bank reconciliation, but after logging in, it says insufficient payment made. I've been calling and chatting with them since but no resolution. Is anyone experiencing this or how can you advice. In addition, my mum's visa renewal was done in May on the old platform and her drop box date is 22nd of October at DHL Surulere, we haven't received any further update from the new platform or email. Can she still go ahead to DHL?

Your friend must do change of name affidavit and she was divorced and remarried. She should also indicate the previous husband's surname in every ds 160 as previous name she has used. That is all. She should not claim mistake, US consulars are aware of those strategies, so better she stand on change of name and divorce.

A number of people experienced same thing. We had to give up and went further until we saw available dates that can be chosen.

Probably the system locked those spaces for specific purposes.

Kindly share with the house the month and year with selectable available dates when you finally see them.

Not sure what could be the problem.

Hope you didn't leave a space after typing the email address? Try another browser.

Just curious, not sure it has a connection, but was that the email you used for the DS 160? If it's not, then try that one and see if it works.

Avits is definitely overwhelmed with myriad of issues. I doubt they did a proper stress test before rolling out. Or maybe they are using us here as the secondary stress test. Lol

I registered yesterday and up till now I haven’t gotten activation mail. Do you know how i can make complaints as i have searched everywhere on the website without any luck.

Please what's the average processing time for dropbox applications now? I submitted Oct 2 at OIS, Abuja and I haven't received any feedback since then, not even the typical email acknowledging that your passport has been received. There's no tracking info on CEAC.

Pls, I just submitted my ds 160 for and I have Lagos as my interview location in the submitted form but on getting to the avits website I realized that there are no dates for Lagos at all but there are dates for Abuja location. Can I book my appointment at the Abuja location with the submitted form or do I have to fill another ds 160 form? What do I need to do and I have also paid for the visa application fee already.

Yes quickly fill another ds 160 which will indicate Abuja as your location and upon successful submission, you may go ahead to use the new Abuja based ds 160 and book your desired Abuja location appointment. Alternatively, you can book Abuja appointment with the Lagos ds 160 but you will still have to fill another Abuja based ds 160 so that it will match together. The point is , it is good that your ds 160 location match up with your visa appointment location.

You will need to pay another MRV fee for Abuja. The system likely won't allow you to schedule an appointment in Abuja if you've selected Lagos on your DS-160 form, as it generates a UID that links your DS-160 to your appointment location.

Do I create the support ticket on the US embassy website?

There is no option to change or update your ds 160 on avits as at this moment. Therefore, you have to forget about that aspect but it is a common occurrence which the US embassy understand themselves. What you will do is to take the initial ds 160 confirmation on your avit and the new one together on your visa interview day. Alternatively, you can create awareness by creating a support ticket with the new ds 160 number may be the embassy can auto update it from their side . But you are good to go with old and new ds 160s.
