Even some of Hamas rockets hit Israel, but how is Hamas today?. Even Ukraine drones are hitting Russia and killing people in Russia. So this is not strange. It is not the one that attacks first that really matters, it is side who has the capacity to fight longer with heavier weapons and less casualty in the long term.
The Gaza war has dragged on for long because of the strategy adopted by Israel: they withdraw their troops after defeating Hamas in a particular area, and that gives Hamas remnant fighters the chance to come back and regroup. It would have been a different story is Israel intended to occupy and stay in all the conquered territories in Gaza

First, you are not a war expert to determine the type of war Israel can win or not.
Secondly, you are the one suggesting a war without end. If Hamas and Hezbollah are allowed to regroup, the war would only continue.
The second world war lasted for 6 years, this is only one year. It's too early to decide who would win or not.
On your final point, you complain that Palestinians are dying and their homes are being destroyed. My question is, what did we expect. That is the very nature of war. Mention any war without civilian casualties? If Hamas cares so much about their civilians who voted for them, they shouldn't be using them as human shields.
If we refuse to fight terrorists because they use their people as shields, we only end up enforcing and encouraging them.
