See, the way you arm and prepare yourself in advance, can ward of potential aggressors if they feel you're going to be a hard nut to crack. So you can't afford to wait for a global war to erupt before you prepare for it. You prepare for any eventuality in advance. Nigeria needs a better trained army, better equipped and mobile army to survive. Nigeria has enormous hydrocarbon capabilities, the sharks will always circle around her, either directly or indirectly. And as long as your defences are wack, you are there for the taking..

I was surprised to find out they have drones they paid huge money for that is just taking pictures for magazines and collections. With respect, you sound very uninformed. Do not conflate Nigeria inefficiencies with its army in a conventional war. Very few countries have their over the horizon capabilities. You need to educate yourself on the Nigerian armed forces than judging them by soldiers at bus stops and checkpoints.

Open conventional warfare, nobody wants it with Nigeria. But as I side Nigerias war doctrine is based on West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea. Sweden doctrine is based on a Russian invasion not war with China. You don't make up risks, you address reality.

1st-generation aircrafts were used in WW1 things like bi-planes.
2nd-3rd generation aircrafts were used in WW2 planes like spitfire, zeros, junker dive bombers (Junker 87 and 88), etc...

But this attempt Buhari made is not bad. You can't be using alpha jets for the past _40 years and suddenly jump to F35

More so, F 35 is only available to countries that have strong military ties with the US. It can't be sold to Nigeria

How long will it take them to be delivered? Almost if not over a year since those platforms have been touted to come. Especially the replacement for the Alpha Jets the M-346 Jet.
We should be acquiring Jets like J-31, SU35 and Rafale or Jas-39.

Though the M-346 is a superb and formidable jet that can hold its own against an F-16.
