Lol... True but impracticable! grin

You might as well pack half of the population into a gas chamber and neutralise them.

You can't sustain such reforms with a population where the poor and unemployed are twice the number of those working and able to cater for themselves.

IMF and world bank, all tools of the colonialist to keep people in generational poverty. No country ever prospered taking their advice. IBB made the mistake of listening to them and implementing SAP with heavily devastated our economy in the 80s, other rejected their lepros fingers, Obj, yar adua, Jonathan even buhari. But Abrakadabra, blablablu did otherwise. Look at all the blinders, you will see footprints of world bank and IMF. Some people complained that he would be easily manipulated by western powers due to him being politically exposed, kompromat etc. Some know he is heavily invested in their country and his assets could be used as blackmail.
Have you not wondered why we were almost lead to war with Niger? Likely under instructions of a foreign power in whose country he is currently "relaxing".
Imagine 15 more years!

I don't trust these International Organizations such as World Bank, IMF, and the rest. Their policies have impoverished Africa for decades. Wise leaders ignore them
Stop being stupid in the year 2024. undecided

Nothing of their policies did any such to Africa. Rather, it has almost always been your criminal corrupt governments impoverishing you all while pretending to implement reforms that were suggested by the World Bank, IMF, and the rest. Look at the list below to see how very necessary all of the reforms suggested are. And compare that to the reality on the ground in Nigeria today. Does it look to you that your government has beneficially implemented any of the reforms even to this day? undecided

Stop lying to yourself!

Since 1960, the one factor that has pushed Nigeria to where it is today and remains the major reason why common sense does not reign in Nigeria is Corruption and the election of kakistocrats into electoral office, a culture that has plagued Nigeria from its very beginning. Nothing good can come of having criminals in office. Nothing! undecided

Hmm...

I was thinking 5 - 7 years.

The critical thing is going to be the President that succeeds Mr Tinubu.

If that President doesn't keep up with these reforms or reverses them, then all the benefits of the reforms we lost and the consequences could be worse than we are seeing now.
Wholly agree with you. That's why eat time I hear people say reverse the PMS price and peg the exchange rate I always ask: do these people know that the situation will be worse if major reforms are reversed?

World Powers don't want any humans left in this geographical Niger Area.

In 15 years, hunger will have wiped out most of the people. They will start using it for Safari.
Animals have more value to them.

People who recommend 15 years of more poverty can't mean well for us.

Tinubu has solved a major problem for Nigeria, unfortunately, we will all pay the prize. He's like the Messiah and will not be appreciated for now but he will be remembered later when people realize what he has done...... "the man get mind" to do what he has done.

It would take about 20-40 years to pay off when the coming generation becomed used to the new pricing, so things are not going to change tomorrow morning but it will later.

Having said that, without nothing done to tame corruption and cut down the cost of running government, this reform would rarely materialize

World powers are responsible for the shege that APC has continued to inflict on Nigerians in Nigeria for the past 9 years. Are you people OK at all? Where were these World Powers during the 8 years of Obasanjo when Nigeria even had much of its debt written off? huh

The world Bank/IMF just want their loan serviced on time, if you for one second think the most exploitative race on the planet would give their best customer sound financial advice then perhaps we really are monkeys! The same mofos that sold us as slaves??

If anyone can show how China lifted double the population of Nigeria out of extreme poverty by taxing the same poor citizens, I would eat my shoe!

In a democracy, the leaders are the people. If the people do not get informed, like before, these reforms will never be properly implemented like the many others before them, and 20-30 years from today, Nigeria will still remain an underdeveloped failing state. undecided

You may have forgotten how Obama seconded his man to help package Buhari against GEJ.

GEJ signed the gay law and secret gay lords in the West were not happy. grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy

Didn't we see IMF/WB encourage IBB to bring SAP? Did it help us? It was the beginning of our proper suffering.

Fools like you make even Buhari look and sound very intelligent, the international division of labour that have left Africa as suppliers of raw materials is also designed by Africans abi. In as much as African leaders have a major play at our current situation, international organizations can't be excused.
Illicit financial flow from illegally extraction from Africa runs into billions of dollars. They prop up governments , support and aid corruption and implementation of wrong economic policies in Africa.
African leaders are despicable, but the topic here is policies recommended by international organizations.
Stick to the topic of discussion, you idiot called kobojunkie.

Please mention when China and Singapore removied all subsidies, increased the price of PMS by over 200 per cent in one day, radically forced inflation, floated its currency to devalue it, caused petrol scarcities, faced a protest for all this and then immediately increased the price of PMS again.

Its unfortunate that you didnt go to school.

1. Stop shifting blame for the incompetence of your government(kakistocrats whom you elected into government) to the IMG and World Bank already. The reforms suggested are commonsense reforms that would work for the betterment of Nigeria and Nigerians if and only if properly implemented by your Government. undecided

Look at subsidy removal for example. If the Government had in fact put in a safety net right and then implemented subsidy removal using the money from that to fund the safety net, many Nigerians would not be where they are today suffering. But it has been over 18 months since Nigerians were lied to about subsidy removal and yet there is no evidence that any money has been saved in all of that time that can be used to maybe help set up a safety net at this point. How is that the fault of the IMF or World Bank? undecided

Your government taxing the poor citizens is your government to blame. Even here in the U.S. Tax exemptions are available to many of the poor. It is 2024, please engage your brains! undecided
