nairalanda1:What's prepaid meter for. Power companies are metering people and no one can use electricity without buying token. So, that's not enough money abi ![]() |

In 2024 Nigeria still don't have uninterrupted power supply Why can't these politicians stabilize this country? Why can't we have stability in our power sector? Most countries in Africa have power stability and why can't we do and even better? What is exactly our limitation? We have the resources and human capital. Are these elders running our country so dump? They have placed this beautiful country in the back of the world. |

It will continue to collapse on a regular basis. The truth is ,we are not generating enough power. It's like using "I pass my neighbor" to power, boiling ring,tv,fan,ac etc. it's only a matter of time before it will pack up. It's not about increasing tariffs but increasing Power Generation. Nigeria needs at least 30,000MW ,before we can boast of steady Power supply. |

faceland:The good thing also, is that you guys know how to mock and make fun At the end, it costs 160-170 to produce a kwh of power (in naira). 20% of end consumers pay that, 80% do not. 40% dont even pay for power. And you expect profit to produce the 33000mw daily we need? There is a reason why NEPA was privatised, except for transmission, and a reason why it is not working well. |

No light in my area since yesternight. Even if they don't bring the light again in Nigeria, I would suffer but I will not die. |
| Re: Power Grid Suffers Another Collapse by nairalanda1(m): 12:51pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
Doris4ever:Again, it costs N160-170 to make one unit of power. Only 20% pay above that, most of us pay below that. Power companies make about 1 trillion in profit, and the government is still owing them 1 trillion or more in subsidy payments. (That is what mandated the band A show). The experts say that 17 trillion naira annually is needed to get to 24 hours power. You get what you pay for. |

Solcampbell:I am not tired, and this your APC government is just as bad as the pdp government. The day you realize that all NIgerian governments since independence are useless, and why, is the day you will free your mind. It hit me 10 years ago. And you can make fun, but at the end, pay market price, get premium service. You cannot pay N1000 and get a toyota corolla 2023 edition in return. |

And it might still suffer another collapse before the end of the year, this country is so amazing. |

nairalanda1:They gave you excuses why they can't do what others before them has done successfully and you accept it. I reject the excuses. After all we give Niger and Ghana electricity. Let me conserve my battery and leave this site fr you people. Only 26% might need to Google something. |

faceland:How many Nigerians can pay for 24 hours light? Power is not cheap |
| Re: Power Grid Suffers Another Collapse by nairalanda1(m): 12:57pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
faceland:You this man, you are here to argue why I should vote for your party, not why we have electricity problem. At the end of the day, leave this site......we have bad power because we pay for bad power. If you like call me agbado, cry excuses......it does not change the hard cold fact. I used to be like you. UNder GEJ i was shouting the same thing you are shouting...until in 2013, when I woke up and asked why.? |

| Re: Power Grid Suffers Another Collapse by nairalanda1(m): 12:59pm On Oct 15, 2024 |
Soteriahascome:How can you have constant power supply when most of you are either underpaying, or not paying for power, and the government is not paying subsidy as well as it should because no money and corruption? Do you buy antenna and generator for MTN and company? NO. Because you pay them market price for call. Thank Obasanjo for that...he refused to listen to people asking him to make sure that the GSM companies charged one kobo for ten minute call. We are getting what we paid for. Pay poorly, get poor power. Your government too is not paying bills. And both of you expect 24 hours power? Magical thinking . |

vanbonattel:NO, i did not vote for frog eyes. Never have, never will Never did vote for Buhari the bumbler. If North cannot bring in younger people, but one old man, abeg. (When Gani was already asking questions about his certificate in 2006, what do you expect? Gani was a trustworthy man, and if he kept asking questions, even after the court was over, chances are there was something wrong. Plus, the man looks cunning. I no like cunning politicans. I would take GEJ with all his corruptuion over tinubu because GEJ does not look cunning). |

vanbonattel:Grow up. You are too mature to reason like this. Like I said, I don't hold long conversations with people who mock and mock. Like you. I am angry with this government. But there is also something called reality. You want your side in power, so good luck. |

nairalanda1:I didn't want. Y side in power, I want the most credible person and we knew who he was in the last elections. Saying we should pay right for power, is there any price they fixed that I didn't pay? Why shouldn't I have power in my own house? |
