Why Is Only One Seaport And Two International Airport Working In Nigeria by Odingo1(op): 4:09pm On Oct 15, 2024
This politics of allowing only Lagos seaport to operate and one international airport in Lagos and Abuja to be functioning is part of major problem in Nigeria. People overcrowd Lagos and Abuja without allowing other regions to develop. South Africa have 4 airport and seaports and small Ghana have two functional international airport spreading development across regions.

What is wrong with Nigeria huh huh huh huh

Is a lie, only oil companies use Onne port, not for public like Apapa port, if you choose Onne port while importing the person will pay three times the price in Lagos and the goods will be delayed for months, is just a politics to frustrate other ports other than the one in Lagos. You can only fly out of Nigeria either from Lagos or Abuja.

Nigeria is just a country that don’t want their country to develop.

nigeria is not designed for prosperity and growth, it is designed to favour certain people whom re elites, they know if certain regions te allowed to develop at there pace it will be a problem to them, no wonder a lot of people from this region prosper when the travel to other countries, the elite intentionally keep the populace in perpetual poverty and use a few as willing tools to surpress the rest , believe nigeria will progress at ur peril, u will be caught unaware

It’s because that Agulu fraud is yet to become president..

Once he becomes president, Nigeria will have 50 functioning airports & seaports..

Let me educate you bro…am a custom licensed agent,we have federal lighter terminal (FLT)for oil related and federal ocean terminal (FOT)for non oil related so what makes lagos different is it welcomes THE RORO vessel and Onne seaport doesn’t
This is Nigeria where everything is possible so if you know your way here with customs here too 👍 your good to go cos I can vividly tell you that onne is hassle free unlike Lagos.

Emphasis on if you know your way, shame, why must you know your way, there should be steady standard for everyone, solid policy instead trying to find who you know, shame again

You need serious economic activities for example gdp/capita to justify their presence. Else You would have airports or Seaport that would be abandoned as they cannot generate revenue to repay themselves.

I import goods into Nigeria, I know what I am telling you. If indeed you’re working in Onne, you will know that goods are intentionally delayed and cost much more to clear at Onne port than Lagos. As you mentioned RoRo is not going there and many other important shipping agencies, why is it so huh

If you are into importation, you will know they are not working, what I am saying is reality. If other African countries like South Africa can have 4 standard seaport in their different regions, how will Nigeria catch up with ensuring that such amenities is confined into one state by force without thinking of spreading development.

You can’t fly out of Nigeria if you don’t touch down in Lagos or Abuja international airport. Kano international airport is only use in direct international flight during hajj lifting of pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Unfortunately Nigerians see everything as politics and try to defend the statue quo but we are all doing ourselves, if we travel to Ghana, Egypt or South Africa and see how their countries is doing better by spreading development across the regions of their countries.

onne sea port is not used by oil companies only...you can fly out from Nigeria through port harcourt international airport( the traffic cant be compared to lagos/abuja, but they have international flights coming in every week).

Are you sure Biafra land is even ready for development yet because even the development there are being destroyed by ekpa and his killer boys? They burn structure, kidnapped anything. When you are ready for development we will know. There is no marginalization anywhere, it is a self-made marginalization and only you can correct it

Why do ppl insist only Lagos is working or exists?
I personally know NIgerians can get stuck on narratives for 100 years unchallenged. I had a friend from Imo that drove to Benin to get to Abuja. I told him it was unnecessary and he can just go north through Anambra or Enugu but he insisted I was wrong even after I showed him a map. It wasn't until someone else who goes through Enugu confirmed it was possible and took 60% the time he was wasting going to Benin first

I mentioned this in a similar thread i opened here few weeks back. The way the Nigerian economy was crafted post 1970, which concentrated everything in Lagos, is majorly responsible for the destruction of other states economy. The roads and rails are rerribke, so Lagos is not even connected to other states, yet every import comes in from there.

Nigeria is not a city state. She is not Dubai or Singapore. Nigeria is more like China, and China has many international airports and seaports. But here, untill recently, if you're traveling out of the country from any of the south-east states, you have to basically travel to Lagos first. It is evil.

This is also the reason why over 90% of the foreign direct investments that flow into Nigeria , end up in lagos, while most of other states suffer.
