I believe it has to do with the percentage of the total population and not the literal count of people in poverty. The percentage of Nigerians across the world is over 70%. The number has been rising over the years and the government has not been doing much to curb the rise except sharing bad rice here and there.

First of all, the other guy lied to you because in the full video, the man condemned Nigeria's approach to implementation that seemed to be benefit the rich and not the masses.

Second, India has implemented a lot of the same reforms suggested by the World Bank which happens to be many of the same set of reforms that were included in the IMF SAP package that IBB refused to fully implement back during the late 80s/early 90s. Nigeria is yet to implement many of these reforms which if you take your time to examine them are in fact commonsense reforms that could help move things forward for all Nigerians — no longer the looters alone —if successfully implemented. Corruption(and general ignorance of the masses) has been the black hole and stone wall in the way of Nigeria's progress.

And this is not even by percentage o. This is like raw numbers.

India that has 5 times more population than us has fewer people in poverty.

The fact that someone hasn't advice u doesn't mean it is not a good policy

It is expected . Minimum wage is 70k / month. Divide it by the exchange rate of 1700 you will get $41.2 and if you divide it by 30 days you get $1.37 per day. The sad part is most arm of government and businesses are even struggling to pay this $1.37/day.
