There is nothing wrong in the payments made to you. Everything there seem to be accurate apart from the interim dividend declared in August that was not included and that also will just be the same amount as the last the paid in 2024 (2023 Final Dividend) If it's confusing, you can just google Transcorp PLC dividend history and you will see that all is well. That screenshot is expressive enough and every detail required is there. It's like you expected more but unfortunately very very Transcorp has been sluggish in both capital appreciation and dividend payments over the years. It's just last year when Forte attempted a form of hostile take over that the price got elevated a little. Even at that, the quantity your Dad got is not significant enough to bring any humongous suprise as it also never declared any bonus through the years. |

spinna:Guiness was not frustrated out of the country. Nigeria is their largest market outside Ireland. Guiness is still in Nigeria. The Nigerian brewed Foreign extra stout is very popular globally and accounts for over half of all Guinness brewed worldwide. Though now brewed in other countries, It was developed in Nigeria. Nigeria was their first brewery outside Europe. If guiness leaves Nigeria, it means Guiness is dead. Comment on things you know about. |

NetbizBoss:To start with the question is not how many shares does your father own but what is the value of the shares he bought. If you father owns 1,000 shares then the total value of his shares today is N10,000, what did he pay for it? If he paid N1000 then and it is worth N10000 now then it has been a good investment. If he paid N10,000 then and it is only worth N10,000 now then so far it has been a bad investment. My guess is if you forget about shares you own because the share certificates were lost, he probably didn’t pay much for them in the 1st place. Secondly transcorp was a govt creation and was always going to be bogged down in govt machinations, politics and policies. it was never a good investment idea then, though now that may be change given the revamp in the power sector and the entry of elemelu. |

Legalised scam. Considering how the Naira has lost value, you can't imagine how ridiculous this is. |

Investing in shares for dividend sake is a lazy way to invest in my view except you have a controlling interest in the company. The real deal is capital appreciation which could give significant profit or massive loss |

You guys are lucky as the share value already dropped as at that time - your dad bought cheap. I bought mine before then and it turned out to be the ultimate Scam - the moment Baba Iyabo moved his money, it crumbled. Transcorp then was promising because of Obasanjo - it would've performed if he got third term. Stock pros in-house, correct me if I'm wrong oo. I think I bought for 20naira per share back then. |

thesicilian:The man did not buy at N1.65. If the son could be talking about share certificate, it shows the man bought through the public offer. The public offer price was N7.00 if I am not mistaken. You talked about crypo, I doubt if crypo was existing then. You are very correct about the purchase being a trial and error thing rather than an investment for the future. You don't put token in shares or any investment for that matter and expect it to end your misery. |

I learnt one key thing about buying shares. Before u buy any share or stocks from any organisation in Nigeria one, check out the live-styles of the CEO's and other top management teams. Check out what they lavish money on...then come back and tell yourself the hard truth. |
