Please, what’s wrong with the passport pickup services? I had my interview in Abuja last week Tuesday and I picked Lagos as my pickup center. I booked appointment on OIS, on getting to their office in Lagos, they say my Passport isn’t with them. And the ceac website say “issued” what’s wrong? I’ve not gotten any email or message from the embassy to pick up my passport tho. Usually it doesn’t take this long, but has things change? Can anyone enlighten us?

Not heard back from them. Still seeing the December date on the portal. Waiting till Friday for it to be one week before I request for another expedited date.

My spouse is, however, pregnant, with the expected due date in February 2025. Would it be possible to add the newborn to their application for the visa interview in April? I am concerned about waiting until after the baby is born before i start the application process, as I fear I may not be able to secure a visa interview appointment in time.

Apply for your wife and child.

When the Baby arrives, apply for the Baby and he/she will attend with your wife. You can always change your wife's biometric date to tally with the new baby's date.

The customer service doesn't seem to be helpful either, I don't even know what to do now

Not heard back from them. Still, see the December date on the portal. Waiting till Friday for it to be one week before I request another expedited date.

Thank you, I was able to resolve the AVIST account login issue earlier this morning but I still have issues with my visa application.

I paid the visa fee in April, 2024 through Guaranty Trust Bank, but the AVIST only recognizes payment through First Bank.

Ask a friend to check the Abuja office. It might be there. A few pages back, somebody recounted how they selected another state after their interview in Abuja and waited for a bit assuming that their passport would be routed to their selected location. Their passport was sitting in Abuja all the while. They had to ask their friend to pick it up from Abuja despite selecting a location other than Abuja for passport delivery.

So they readjusted my date back to next Tuesday, I just hope and pray it doesn't change again. Thank God I saw mine before the actual interview date, I called them 4 times today to complain and even attempted to apply for an expedition. Saw today that it updated, so it should be good to go for next week by God's Grace.

My interview date is supposed to be on 18th October 2024 but the date reverted back to the 2025 date. Should I still go with my appointment letter or just try to reschedule. My printed appointment letter is showing 18th October 2024.
Any suggestions.

On the previous website, my interview date was set for January 2026. However, after migrating to the new website, I rescheduled it for October 22, 2024. Out of nowhere, the date reverted to 2026 again. I contacted customer support about 3-4 times, and each representative assured me they would escalate the issue. I checked again tonight, and the date has been updated to October 22, next Tuesday. I'm really hoping it stays this way and doesn't change again. A tip is to also upload the appointment confirmation as they may not have it stored anywhere.

This evening I wanted to check and download the new appointment letter. Then I saw November 2 again and also saw another one again cancelled I don’t understand. Attached are the pictures.

Yes true. That was the same thing I was told at the OIS lagos. Could you please post a link to any of those pages? Would like to check them out thanks

Print out from the one that says appointment scheduled (Nov 2nd). Then print out this email you recieved. Take both along for your interview on the rescheduled date(6th).
This is the interpretation of what the mail you received says.

The one that says ‘appointment cancelled’ does not contain your full details. The one that says ‘appointment scheduled’ has all your details on it.
I know bcs my dashboard is also like yours.
And I was also rescheduled from November 2nd.

Thank you, I was able to resolve the AVIST account login issue earlier this morning but I still have issues with my visa application.

I have the same issue, the lady i spoke to said all i have to do is take the ds160 page that i actually completed to my interview and before they even start scanning anything let them know that the ds160 is different from the one on the appointment confirmation and they will know what to do, I also watched a youtube video of a lady who had the same issue and did this and she was fine.

there isn't, just take the ds160 you will actually like to use to your interview and let them know before they start scanning that this is the actual one and not the one on your interview appointment form.

To be honest, this might be tricky because it seems like they didn't have any record of it until I actually uploaded the appointment letter. However, i would still recommend trying. 1st create a ticket and secondly call customer service also and see if they can escalate it for you. Mine took about 24 hours to get changed back. Goodluck

Good day all. Please I need advise and guidance. I have an urgent business appointment for next month in the US. I was denied B1/B2 primary business VISA about two weeks ago. I have reapplied although yet to submit the DS-160 form but have paid the MRV (VISA) fees on 7/10/2024 using my previous AVITS profile. My AVITS dash board is now showing 2 appointment (1expired). Its also showing Pending appointment request. I have raised a ticket on sat 12/10/2024 to correct pending appointment request issue but no action yet. However, on My appointments window, I have 1 schedule appointment for 11th Nov 2025. Also, 2 reschedule available. It's not clear to me if this schedule appointment is from my previous denied VISA (as this is the 1st date I got from my previous denied VISA before I rescheduled using the expedite window) or if this schedule date is from my request appointment request. I want to find out if I should continue to wait (though time is running out) till the pending appointment issue is resolved or should progress with schedule appointment. I want to request for an expedited appointment.
Please any useful advise how to progress will be highly appreciated.

* You are focusing on OIS , what about AVITS ?

1. When your VISA processing is completed, you will receive the documents back with the delivery option chosen during your application process. You may however, change your preferred document delivery address online until 11:59pm a day prior to your interview or through the call center between 9am to 5pm a day prior to your interview.

2. You cannot change your VISA pick up location again, and if at all you want to, you must go and sign up and do that on AVITS, and also go and do same on OIS. Both AVITS pick up location and OIS location chosen by you must tally.

PS: Go and open a profile on AVITS and verify your VISA status first. That is your official and No-1 USA embassy electronic Résumé.

Is it advisable for three of them to go for the interview same day? Or I should split it? Wife different day from kids. So that I will use the kids as home tie for my wife and the kids for her. Since the three going same day will look as if we may not want to come back

For Lagos, Yes.
It is working now after some glitches.
I picked dates for my wife and 2 kids.
Surprisingly, they had dates for October, November, December and January unlike the old platform were dates are almost a year long

Hello. You cannot use physical ideas or application strategies to win or secure American visa. You can only use the strategies and ideas of following the rules and regulations of the visa.

Therefore, let your family apply for their visas in the same day. If they are qualify the visas shall be issued.

In the real sense of it, only children back home in Nigeria cannot satisfy the consular's ties 100% score mark because your family or relatives are there to take over their upkeeps even if you failed to return to Nigeria .
