Hello everyone, There's one thing that baffles me about present day Nigeria youths that make me go over again to check on Buhari statement that "Nigeria youths are lazy". It's becoming increasingly annoying lately the way Nigeria youths talk down on money and later complain of hardship. One nairalander created a thread about what 26 million naira can establish in Nigeria and to my utmost surprise majority of the people (dominantly youths) said 26 million is nothing. Is it that we are out of touch with reality or we all just want to claim millionaires on the internet. I personally is more of an offline person and I relate with business owners a lot( being a business owner myself) and I know people start and grow business with less than that, I know family men whose business is not up to 2 million and they are making things happen. Even offline it isn't any better because u see a fresh graduate with skill in photography offered 2 million to start something probably get a little camera and a small shop for humble beginnings so as to avoid begging for urgent 2k but he will tell u it's not eno, he needs a minimum of 15 million. Like do u want to become Clarence peters or tg omori overnight? I am sorry if u aren't getting me but I see many youths offline getting dirty with what we call dirty jobs and making it big. The way people talk down on money here makes me wonder if people are really suffering, if we have a thread of 10 pages and over 8 pages people are saying 5 million is chicken change then who are those complaining of hunger? How can u as a youth be offered 3 million to start something and you rejects it saying it's too small Imagine a Nigerian youth saying 26 million is nothing n 6 million can't do anything, haba!!! I will like people to share their views on this topic cos I don't understand if I am d one with small dreams( according to them) or they are the ones out of touch with reality Note- in my own world, it pays to start small and make 5k per day and be independent than looking for millions to start and get stranded always thereby calling for urgent 2k everytime Mynd44 Nlfpmod Dominique Justwise Mukina Fergio001 Notable mention.....onatisi

I have never been surprised. With the crop of youths Nigeria is breeding, such can never amaze me. People whose role model is Hushpuppi. 100 million will definitely be small money to them. A generation that believes in overnight wealth, and even mock those climbing the ladder to success. Take it has a norm. It’s become a culture and tradition. Just make sure you don’t raise kids among them. |

CoronaVirusPro:though I agree Nigeria is bad but in this same Nigeria, 26 million is still big money. It's annoying how majority of the people brag that 6 million is nothing but we see many complaining of hardship n suffering Who are those suffering then if virtually everyone is saying 6 million is nothing. |

There are many many people who only need 300/500k to learn an handwork and within 2 to 3 years they will become their own bosses and in 10 years because well established. The bitter truth is this , ANY ONE THAT DOESNT SEE ANYTHING TANGIBLE OR USEFUL ABOUT 5M NAIRA WILL.NEVER MAKE IT ABROAD BECAUSE IT SHOWS SUCH PERSON CAN NEVER SEE OPPORTUNITIES.SUCH PERSON WILL TRAVEL AND BECOME A MENIAL WORKER ABROAD FOR YEARS . You have to be able to see the opportunities in the slightest places before you can make it outside Nigeria There are many Nigerians in equatorial guinea,Angola ,Gabon making it and they will tell you they don't even want to go to USA or Canada ,that is because they can spot opportunities |

RealityKings:imagine a fresh graduate rejecting an offer of 3 million but he's willing to travel to Abuja for a job of 120k per month N this person will always call u for urgent 5k if he's stranded, I was like even me when u dey beg money I will gladly accept that 3 million but our oga big dreamer said 3 million is nothing but 120k salary a month is cool |

If you cannot start a business with N26,000 , you have no business with 26 Million Naira. Start small , grow big. Opportunities exist everywhere in the midst of hardship , the choice is yours. |

The problem is the education system, school nowadays is more of foodpacks than books, secondly stolen funds because some youth don't know most of their parents showered them with stolen fund, thirdly yahoo yahoo is bringing so much money, fourthly, attitude of government officials. |

They are saying its nothing because when converted it can’t pay school fees and living expenses in major countries abroad. You guys also like to romanticize business in Nigeria. When most businesses fail . You have to be business savvy and street smart to make it. Also its social media every one claims to be rich . Why he dey pain u? 😂 |

Godwin4444:One of the Most Sensible Pieces I have read in a while.Kudos The issues is because of the influence of internet Fraud, We see boys splashing millions anyhow and see how corrupt politicians waste money and leads youth to get out of touch with reality and set their mind on large sums in short periods especially when they are not ready to do something illegal. Another issue which I think is the Major reason Youths talk down on Money is the access to information. This era we see those making it big around the world and I Mean legally, Everyone can see , bill gates, Dangote,Wizkid and other people who made it young through online business living flashy lives and we forget that these people are only a crop of a very few numbers amongst the larger population of Nigerians You see someone who hasn't made 200k in his life talk down on 10million because he knows a forex trader who made more in one trade. Most Nigerian Youths are delusional, we love to appear richer than we are I know alot of broke boys and girls using phones worth millions and six figures, but have no real source of income,it's a culture of fake life and laziness but the truth remains that in coming years Those who piped low and got themselves actual skills and saved up with money management discipline will eventually override all the noise going off now . |
