2kWh, 7s30p, 24v lithium ion built powerwall, built for a client.

I have been thinking about 4s vs 3s battery configuration of same capacity.

Which is better of to use considering back up.

3s vs 4s for lithium ion is a long debated topic. If u go for 3s the inverter may go off at 10.5 as it's the depth of discharge of most inverter, and at 10.5 the cells still have some juice cos they are at 3.5v while for 4s the maximum voltage is 16.8v but unfortunately most inverters don't go upto that voltage except of course the recent hybrid inverters. In summary, if your inverter can accommodate over 16v then go for 4s but if it can't, u can manage your 3s. Lithium ion powerwalls seems better from 7s n above. But for 12v setup I rather suggest lifepo4.

simple, their inverters are specially made for them to reach 16.8v.

Please gurus can connecting 20 lithium batteries in parallel require BMS. HOW CAN THE 3.7 VOLTS BE BOOSTED TO 12V

yes it requires BMS sir. U connect the 3.7v cells in series of 3 sir. That's 3.7x3=11v when fully charged it will be 4.2x3=12.6v. Hope u understand? If u don't, chat me on whatsapp let me be your guide.

Besides, I have been experimenting the 4s vs 3s topology and so far I can ascertain that suoer satchet inverter has a high voltage protection of 15.93v which (so any voltage above the reference Voltage highlighted above,will set the inverter into protection mode).

I am currently trying to see if there is a way I can tweak the inverter circuit to get it upto 16v.

If you have any info on this abeg I need am

Be satisfied with the 15.93v i.e almost 4v per cell. No major capacity from above 4v. In fact you get more life below 4v. I don't go beyond 12.3v for 3s i.e 4.1v.

You are hitting both extremes i e max full charge and lowest discharge. Lifespan will decrease for sure.

I dismantled the 12v 200ah pack today, I want to scale up to 24v 4kw.

I intend on using 560 cells to attain my required watt hours.

Many thanks to the 5a active balancer I installed in it, every damn cells has same voltage reading.

good morning boss, I can't tell the cycle of the cells, but I intend using them for years, 5 or more years depending on my level of usage since they ain't new cells.
