The Quran was revealed to the great prophet Muhammad S.a.w whenever he received, he read it to the companions among is his secretary Zayd bin thabit, who wrote it down, Abubakar,Umar, Usman and some companions who are tops ...

During the Abubakar R.A. caliphs when they went to battle they kill most of people who memorize the full Quran and Umar R.A. suggest to Abubakar let compile the Quran in a place so people can be memorizing in a place then they do so...
When it's Usman R.A. caliphs he noticed that everyone was just copying whatever he saw in part of the Quran and he know from copying to copying, that may prone to error, has the leader he ordered the top scholars to submit there Quran and set up panel to see all the Qurans of the scholar to make it to one Book, then he ordered everybody to submit there
Varies Qurans and burn them all... He now sent each of the copies he produce to the each leader of the tribes, league, nation under Islamic rules and order them only to be making it for there people and no one should be copying it on it own to curb error...
Note; Arab is similar to Yorubas where they speak the same Yoruba with different intonation..
That is how the ruler copied each Quran with dialects in Arabic.... That where we arrived at Hafs and others .....

Abu Bakr the first Caliph ruled for 2 years during which he started the first compilation and he completed it before he died and kept it.

The second caliph Umar ruled for 10 years from 634-644AD and he was in custody of manuscripts until he died after which Hafsa his daughter kept custody of it.

During the rule of Uthman (who ruled 12years after Muhammad had died) that is more than 12 years after the first Quran was compiled. Uthman ruled for 12years so in between those 12 years while he was ruling, people called his attention to the different ways people were reciting the Quran (which has been the norm even when Muhammad was alive and he didn't think of unifying the Quran into one dialect because Muhammad himself said the Quran was revealed to him in 7 different dialects)
