Appletek:There are yorubas in the south east enjoying their careers and lives there. Lagos is a metropolitan state and must recognise its diversity. |

You translate your own language into another language. This way you'll enjoy the first-hand experience in the original language. Once you've used Chat-GTP you'll be translating English to Yoruba, so it means that Yoruba won't have first-hand experience in the original language which would be Chat-GTP. Just in case you don't understand, it's from the first language a translation is done that holds the REAL meaning of what the author truly said, not the interpretation. This is why if you want to study certain subjects in the West, they'll recommend that you pass through a course in Greek or Latin or other ancient languages so that you can make your own judgement of ancient text, example; the first Bible writing in Greek or Latin. I just finished reading the book: Sapiens by Yuval Noah but the book was originally written in the author's language which is Jewish. What I read is the English translation, and no matter how much I understand English, I can't appreciate the emotions in the mind of the author. But a Jew who reads the book in the original Hebrew language would be able to do that because he/she would be reading him/herself. Go ahead and do the transition with your own Yoruba mind so that you'll be the Alpha and Omega of your own meaning!! What else shall I do to help my people understand the danger of speaking someone else language? |

Great idea. Language is key to keeping and deepening the identity of a people! You lose and cease to use your language and your identity is gone. The Chinese know so! So also the Japanese! One big reason their ways remain largely original! |

Valeur:Wetin concern ibos with the news. Must you insert ibos into Yoruba's affairs. They don't even share border with Yoruba. If the ibos understand Yoruba, that's their problem. It's only helping to make the language stronger which is the aim of the development. |

jaxxy:Anambra can not employ Enugu and Imo workers but Lagos translating its laws into Yoruba is your problem. You are an hypocrite. The diversity of the Lagos means that the Yoruba owners own the land and economic migrants must stay where the owners have designated them to stay. |

jaxxy:The folks you are talking about in Igbo land blend. I use to live in Owerri myself. I am Yoruba. I picked up the language and got to love the cuisine. I never was rude, crude or insulted my Igbo friends and neighbour. When I was to relocate to SW my Igbo couple neighbour asked to see me in their flat on a Saturday afternoon. It turned out to be a feast of Yam pounded with Garri as morsel and Ofe Owerri Soup. Never ate that before ! It was so delicious and filling that I slept from about 3pm when I arrived back to my flat until the following day straight! Language is not part of the input needed for diversity. Certain parts of the USA speak so much Spanish you will wonder if America is indeed English speaking! Diversity should not translate to a take over. No Yoruba man in Igbo land -properous and cosmopolitan Aba, for instance has ever laid claim to Aba as "a no man's land". It sure makes no sense to say that. Of course you have Muslims in Europe trying to do a similar thing with the nefarious aim of Islamising Europe. It is ongoing and one hopes Europe wakes up before the circle is closed on them and they get trapped in Islam! So long as the Igbo refuse to blend and persist in saying Lagos is no man's land so long will the Igbo labour in vain in Lagos. The Japanese, The Chinese, The Arabs, Spanish Language speakers et al understand the powerful role language plays in living with an identity. Yoruba Japa who do not speak and bring up their children in the language deserve to be pitied! Their children have lost their identity and cannot be fully healthy mentally. Even USA that gives anyone promising a Green Card have ways of watching you to ensure you are indeed American as you claim! You show tendencies that indicate otherwise you are gone with the wind! |
